  1. Still looking good she is around 8 now mate. but has always kept herself in good nic. my young cross dog spends many an hour sparring with her. she is the only one that can cope with him, and strangely enough hasnt tried to kill him yet. both these terriers where catching rats at around four months old. its always good to be in a position to nail a few rats in style. especially when the farmer is about. ive found it cements permision better than anything else. no matter what breed you use
  2. great shots them. thanks for sharing this place would be a lot duller without you guys posting,
  3. same sh1te different day. . i can find something good to say about most working types. and most folk. you dont need to mention the bad. that generally speaks for itself here is a pic of old bambam. (pinsley amber) for the lads that follow the breed. bill my favorite old plummer sassy goes back to a dog called toby. dont know if its the same dog. but she did ok for the odd shift
  4. if i could not get a pure working wheaten then i would consider a cross if i was you still better than a KC animal. a heavy built lurcher (litter wast) from a lurcher programe with wheaten on both sides. or a bull/wheaten or terrier wheaten pup . not ideal but a better starting point
  5. good luck with your new pup fella.
  6. ive tried most compact and bridge camera's and none will compare to a basic dslr. ive dropped a few pixels and am enjoying using an old D90. its worth remembering the most important part of any camera is..the person operating it. happy snapping whatever you get.
  7. i'm making one also. looking forward to any idea's. size shape etc.
  8. it could out run my dogs no problem
  9. its not all about killing em. i admire em. they are hardy feckers. if they are a problem they need removed but if they pose no threat then why not put the gun down and get some practice in with a camera. i have to sort the odd problem fox but still like to see em about ham butties are a favorite lol.
  10. Plummers already command prices of £400 to £450 a pup FFS. i could of made a mint on my bitches.
  11. good luck. looking forward to any results.
  12. nearly forgot one for the show folk. killed three foxes to ground in an old beech root hole. i'll never forget the look of awe on the young fella,s face as he carried him home in a rucksack. proud as punch. that young lad tells his tale of helping to dig old trusty out by torchlite to this day. he dropped to ground at under a year old and was dug out after spending a whole shift below. we thought he was trapped. but he was happily working away when we broke through. that was the day we decided after much deliberation not to tell him of his royal KC blood. lmfao.
  13. maybe your missing the point if looks dont count then a well made terrier shouldnt be sniffed at either. a good dog will come in all shapes and sizes. this dog was KC. and a young lady took a shine to him. showed him and he qualified for crufts and many other big shows . got CCs and went on to win best of breed at the national. he did all this whilst having working marks. there is some shite on here thats for sure. .
  14. ive had a couple of whippet crosses that ive had to dig out. ive never had a cooker to ground but i had a washing machine in a dump.
  15. there was a fair bit of brightmore stuff in sw/scotland. some decent terriers came from his terriers. and there are folk that still keep lines. from his terriers.
  16. ive never put him to stud chris. never needed another lurcher i tend to just keep the one runner.
  17. i'm to long in the tooth for another like him. but your probably right
  18. yea still around mate. fully retired now. apart from pram guard duty. . he is in double figures now . as for more coat on them. be carefull what you wish for. ozzy balled up bad in the snow and collects allsorts in his coat when i havnt sheared it. although he passes for a beardy to the untrained eye never had a second glance when out with the auld fella
  19. there wont be many hasnt seen a pic of old ozzy. but for the ones that havnt here you go. first cross. wheaten whippet. 23 tts. fifty six pound. he was black as a pup but turned grey by the time he was a year old. and has been a good lurcher for me for general pesting now retired.
  20. thats a first class image of the barn owl.
  21. ffs you have just used most of my likes.
