  1. is everyone looking forward to getting a few pics of the blood moon. I hope the sky is clear as I missed the eclipse due to cloud cover. and as it may bring doom on us all it could be the last chance to get a good pic . any pointers would be good
  2. always good to see your posts . I like the first pic
  3. if the dog marks the earth from a distance . you enter it . the same dog on a different day may need to run through to find. yes I would say its about scenting conditions. but that don't change the fact that some dogs shine above others in the nose department. if you are out with a few terriers you tend to rely more on certain dogs for finding than others. experience comes into it but generally speaking a dog with a good nose shows this very early. as does a poor one when in company. you also need a decent owner to read the dog. as for hard terriers that's down to how you define this. ive seen
  4. ive also seen and owned terriers that will mark from a good distance
  5. glad to hear that fireman. hope all goes well for your lurcher for the season. Max is on a one week course of synulux 250 mg. and clinacin 150 mg. the lump is now very small and shrinking every day. I swear the little fecker can eat half a sausage with the tablet in and then spit out the tab. its a daily battle to get them down his neck lol
  6. its always good to read something a little different with the little dogs.
  7. he is doing fine bud. his lump is coming down again and back to the vets at the end of the week for another assessment . so its a waiting game. hows the lurcher getting on
  8. on the news the scotish wildcat is under a new threat with a feline virus has anyone heard anything about this.??
  9. a moocher to me is a dog that can find and catch and then bring it back for you tea. a poachers companion in the good old days could mean the difference in eating or going hungry hunt jump catch kill and carry fur and feather you could get one in the exchange and mart for a tenner
  10. its a gps collar that is attached to the dog tomo you hold the receiver and the transmitter is in the collar. or at least I think that's how it works. lol
  11. thought I recognised that dog. dab hand with a camera that lad.
  12. just take an antihistamin when you get bothered. any coat that is shed will flair it up at some point in time. a beddy would be best as they don't shed
  13. ive just looked one up. the roto light neo. more for portrait and video market I think. .
  14. I don't bath/wash my dogs. they get dried off and then brushed. defo worth a mention though
  15. has anyone tried the new camera mounted led light systems. it would be interesting to know if they would be of any use ?
  16. I like to read to learn. most educational books these days have dvd's to compliment them. for pure entertainment its dvd;s . so both for me . food for though for the fieldsports authors a complimentary visual disc in some form must be a good selling point. giving a better overall experience.
  17. stompers them. should make hardy little runners. and at a fair price
  18. skycat it grows like a perfect orb. till its around the size of a marble. then if left it forms a hard mass around it. this becomes very large and starts to cause him some discomfort. and then a rise in his temp its deep set and there is no sign of pain or redness around the area . its not like any absess ive come across.
  19. its all relative to the worek the dog is expected to do. if you need the dog to do ten rabbits twice a week and it does this comfortably and keeps good then I would say its 100 fit for purpose
  20. did the vet use terms like STRANGE. PUZZLED and BIZZARRE. then hit you with another bill for something they are not sure how to deal with. Max is keeping great condition . its just frustrating that he cant get out and work as he is at the age where you can see he needs stimulation. fireman I hope you get the lurcher sorted fella. chin up its just a bad time of year for em to be off on a sicky
  21. I fired off sixty odd shots last night not one came out the way I wanted. .for the lads with a bit of spare cash the sigma f/1.4 dg hsm .a is getting rave revues. . costs a bit thought
  22. well the saga goes on. max finished his antibiotics and the lump disappeared so I was getting him out again . but yesterday it came back . so back to the vets and another week of antibiotics then back to the vets. the timing is sh1t. he is bouncing off the walls and driving me nuts lol. on the plus side he has never been in better condition and is a promising youngster so hopefully we will get over this hurdle and crack on. a recent pic
