  1. I will have to tell him that. Cheers Arry
  2. Every had one of them days when you feel you should have stayed in bed. Well picked my mate up headed for a local farm where he'd picked out a hedge to do "fresh loads in it". Ran the long nets out then started netting few holes and stop nets on top of the hedge then it starts to rain. Enter two of my ferrets in and out no bloody scent the hedge is empty now all the nets are wet. So half way through me picking up my side my mate climbs back over with his gear and long net saying I've lost one of my ferrets "we didn't use you ferrets" "the catch has come undone". Told him to take the gear back

  10. The Full Extent of Jeffrey Epstein’s Crimes Are Slowly Being Revealed WWW.JACOBINMAG.COM The trial of Ghislaine Maxwell was disappointing for those hoping it would blow the lid off the Jeffrey Epstein sex ring. But the trial and new reporting have shown... Cheers Arry
  11. Now remember I'm still learning as far as I understand low tone is probably iron a sharp high pitch tone is none ferris. This should be a clear sound and the same signal at 90 degrees with no dull sound or click like sounds. I will probably get put right on this one. When I first went out I was digging square nails and plough shears and every piece of junk I was knackered. Down load the manual of Minelab site mate. Some good YouTube information. I put coins and rings on the lawn pass the detector over them and listen to different tones and note the numbers. Hope this hel
  12. No mate not yet mate. I green with envy at what "down south" post in the metal detecting thread. Here hoping it will happen. I'm a bit of a novice really still getting used to the different tones but digging up much less junk now. Cheers Arry
  13. ??? Think thats where all the f***ing nails came from. Cheers Arry
  14. Yes mate but I'm a bit of a novice to be honest. I have a similar Vanquish 540. Theres already a thread running at the moment in the general section but would be nice to have a section. See you've just noticed. Cheers Arry .
  15. Out for couple of hours in a field today two coins, bit gutted worn. A bit of brass that I think horses reins went through. A rivet fro an old belt that probably drove a thrashing machine. And a bit of no ferris slag. Thought I was on the colour when I first saw the shine in the black mud of the river mud the other day. An old oil lamp top that still works if you put a wick in it. One of the deepest things I have found. Cheers Arry
  16. This reminds me of an encounter with law while out ferreting back in the 60's ( where has time gone). Four of us in an old Ford Popular set off for Dartmoor about 10 miles from my home town just thinking it was common land and we could go anywhere. Driving across the Moor not far from Prince Town and rabbit crossed the road and went into a burrow so we pull up and started to till up nets. Next thing holy hell breaks loose a police car then another Morris thousand with the different colour doors then a copper on a motor bike then a Mini Moke police car. They rounded all 4 of us up one shouting
  17. When I had two Jack Russell I would have loads of fun with them and a handful of nets. Saw a Roe break down over and go behind that Ash tree by the stream in the bottom. But it getting too over grown now unless the numbers really get up. On that hill opposite there is some nice ferreting from time to time but numbers seem good one month then none then the start to come back strange times. Cheers Arry
  18. Somebody selling them on Face book mate. Cheers Arry
  19. Little valley I was in to day by myself. It's getting very overgrown now brambles everywhere but a 20 hole ground burrow I could do solo as my mate cried off. Cheers Arry
  20. I've all ways been interested in field walking finding stone age flints which I have found loads. Ferreting, fishing, shooting, foraging for fungi mushrooms, Photos etc so I got a metal detector, like I needed another hobby lol. I alway found it interesting and have farms river banks and beaches I can search on. Well river banks near me full of Bullets from an old rifle range and of coarse fishing weighs, drove me mad. Fields all I seem to find is plough shears horse shoes few modern coins and bits and pieces no hoards but here's hoping. Be nice to have a separate section on the forum.
  21. This is True. Well wifey got an Amaryllis bulb for Christmas so after a few the other night took a photo and sent it to my sister who is a keen gardener. Don't think she's talking to me Lol. Cheers Arry
