  1. My mates old Bull X was a jacker on teeth but was very handy on the bigger stuff, it ended up a cull in the end though.. The only advice I would give fa those who required a full on vermin Buul xs try ta get the those from long tested lines if one can the best are not always available to all and sundry and even hen luck plays a part ,one how good a handler one his if one can understand the animals needs .atb bunnys. The real decent bull/greyhounds and there close relations would be wasted on 95% of folk in the lurcher game now. Can't remember the last time I see one I really liked.
  2. That doesn't mean they would run that way single handed.Do you think those dogs were working as a pack ??? .....I know dogs don't always run to the best of their ability when doubled up or ran with more dogs. Haven't seen the clip but I know some greyhounds start running cunning at park coursing and know of some lurchers that get run doubled all the time and hang back and taking stuff that comes accross them. Like you say dog some animals run different doubled.
  3. They allways look massive alive don't they ? Cracking pictures ??
  4. Sounds good on paper but as someone else mentioned in the flesh the saluki adds but also takes away. Can't beat a good old bull/grey if you need sommat that don't mind abit of stick imo.
  5. Good post phil leave them huge warrens as safe breeding places to fill up the smaller easier warrens as you say takes a while for the penny to drop but deffo the way forward ??
  6. To be honest would you really want a dog to feed yourself unless you lived in an area with loads of deer ? A dog needs feeding gets injured ect a snare net or baited line won't get hurt can have hundreds going at once doesn't need feeding and works 24hrs a day .... But to answer the qestion It would probably be one of those cattle dogs or a Malinois type for me something that's more than just a hunting dog.
  7. I'd rather a smaller bull/greyhound than a bull whippet any day I like em but take far too long to get the job done when your giving them some stick I think.
  8. Lee moulds are hard to beat for the price have a cutter built in I've a 12 shot new forest mould but I think the Lee moulds make a neater job only down side is they only do 2 at a time.
  9. Carlstoke are bell of Hythe still trading ? They used to do some cracking red square knocked over some stuff with them and the old bull elastic all used to use were pebbles then unless someone give me a hand full of lead shots. milbros all I use was first catty I picked up just got a few different types made from brass or Ali only others I got is an old Stanley frame a natural wich I'm no good with and a Ali rabbit stopper type wich is a goodun but just not a fan of the flats. Got a few different lead moulds here now one of thems the 16mm new forest range so just fancied going back and to the
  10. Could be wrong but I think there 5mm just had a few shots with steel whilst walking the dogs early days but so far I think there a cracking little set not as fast as theraband tubes but enough poke to drop stuff with head shots may set the alarm and get out early for a few pigeons see how they do. Got some 6mm black square aswell but I'm not so impressed with this using 16mm lead.
  11. I like these little Goliath squares had a mess about with them yesterday with 12mm lead good little bands gonna take some steel when I walk the dogs this evening see how it gets on dropped a couple pigeons with the lead no problem.
  12. Good shooting is it me or do they look slightly poor ?
  13. Got a grandson to scout does ok on the Flint where I run it ??
  14. Very nice monkey bet that can fill a freezer or 4 ??
  15. I've given them hiax some stick and there still going strong.
  16. For them days or nights when your having loads of shots with heavy leads or pebbles they are hard to beat for me anyway. Nothing worse than bieng in amongst it and the theraband decides to tear.
  17. Cheers lads I think I've found some worth a look carlstoke I take it the neoprene stuff is better? Thanks.
  18. Thanks ratbuster do you know if that's the proper square stuff or the horrible fake stuff ? Also anyone got any experience with Goliath elastic ?
  19. This young dog has seen plenty of gear,99.9% of lurchers & their owners in this country could only dream of what he's seen & had his jaws around but like I say he or ANY of the other Romeo breds I've seen are nothing other than mediocre in my eyes,to some they may think they are world beaters & at the end of the day it's their prerogative to do so I'm just a realist & say it as it is..I had never any intention of keeping back a pup & still don't,I'm done with the game after 3 more trips out..Game Over I've earned my seat infront of the tv,done 700 miles yesterday to go run
  20. that Romeo stuff ain't my cup of tea either but he's a lovely looking animal Hawkins best of luck with him ??
  21. Interesting about the scots pines fair play ??
  22. Ayup lads can't seem to buy this stuff anymore I'm sick of theraband gold looking to use 16mm lead I've got some theraband blue tubes for now but seeing as I mainly use old milbros I'd like to get some good quality squares in we used to use bull elastic that was strong and needed daily use but cannot find it anywhere ?
  23. Whatever you decide to do best of luck if there's anyway I can help or assist you don't hesitate to drop me a PM I've enjoyed your posts of that little bitch over the years. I really do wish you the best of luck with everything ??
  24. Credit where it's due that Mars bitch is handy for a pure not the classiest runner but seemed to want it's hare dead something I like to see I wonder how her career panned out.
