I just say that should come with a caveat, it’s no good giving someone a massive majority if it’s not REAL change ! As you point out the civil service runs the country and that is entirely down to Tony Blair doing away with the old Britain that we all think we still live in and legislating something completely new, a continental system, instead ! None if this gets fixed in any meaningful way until you do away with everything Blair (and his various Labour and Tory successors) put in place ! Now, there are only a couple of reasons nobody is saying this truth….its either beca

The most capable of people won't want to be in public view/scrutiny/media, the battle will be won behind the scenes , in so much that the UK swamp is primarily civil service who aren't voted for and the treasury etc, I'd love to have a private chat with some of the higher echelons of reform and tell them some information.... The actual faces of these councils etc will be given a mandate to fulfil and in failing will be down the road , currently reform need bums on seats to win a strong majority without the prospect of bringing themselves into disrepute by bringing in unknown with dodgy pa

You’ve served on committees probably just like I have, so you know that it’s always “Welcome, let me tell you how we do things” to which the correct response is “I don’t need you to tell me how you do things because I know how I want to do things !” And I don’t have a f***ing qualification to my name ! But, it’s not hard if these people are genuinely facing problems, party central office should already be aware of these obstacles that will get thrown in the road and should with due diligence have set up a department to help these new councillors bypass the fact they can’t a

I will just add that, am I or anyone else to believe that in the year 2025 a bloke don’t know how to walk into a building and say “Where is the it department ?” Walk down there and say “Can one of you show me how to access my email !” Is this really our response to all the decades of Labour and Tory, pathetic excuses like that are now good enough ? Do me a favour !

My post about you was in jest.... and I do agree with you. My point, really, is just how difficult it is to actually get people to replace the current lot with. As said my post was in jest but I'm serious about how the current crop of reform councilors and the councilors elected for the peoples front against darkies, will struggle, because the systems they need to take over are wrapped in so many layers of bullshite and so many people have a vested interest in the status quo. To take a random bloke who has been swept into 'power' on a tide of change will always find it difficult
