This site is certainly different to what it was, but what stays the same eh? Working in st Helens today so went to look at the old 'hotties' stretch of the sankey canal. In it's day this stretch was heated by the outlet from the glass factory. The stretch was famous for fishing as it was full of tropical fish that survived in the hot water
