Luckily Edith knows that the mere production of the rifle means that she has to behave like stalking dog. Likewise there are times when she has to live up to her breed designation of sheepdog; not a particularly stylish one .Think of a canine Lemmy from Motörhead rather than the slick things you see on One Man and His Dog. Off duty she gets to follow interesting scents and rummage through brambles in search of stuff. She's pretty hot on woodmice. Today she finally nailed a real prize!

No mate that system is called stake net fishing. I still fish with a haaf net. Which is basically holding a three legged construction with a net attached and waiting for salmon and sea trout to hit the net.

It’s the only one day that my missus cooks for me (thank god) and puts me up a “dinner” …she cooks for her clan and being here alone ts not worth all the faff for one , so I just make sure to get plenty of gaviscon in , snack through out the day and leave the wrappers out so I can say I’m not that hungry when I leave half …

Well I was hoping to do more prep than I have but I'll have time while the turkey is on, made a parsley lemon garlic butter for the turkey and stuffed with onion lemon and bay. Mate gave me a recipe for sprouts which is smashed up sprouts cooked with lardons/bacon and topped with parmesan. Doing leeks in sauce , roasties parsnips, carrot, pigs in blankets and some butchers stuffing, going to try again to pull off a good gravy , I've got giblets and wings etc to kickstart it.but got bisto if I mess up, got a tart and pavlova for pud. Turkey going on at 7 and gonna rest for 2/3 hours uncovered

Well first year that missus has everything wrapped before kids asleep. Should make for an earlier night , probably place stockings around midnight. They'll probably be awake at 3/4am I'm preying for a lie in though. They'll be entertained with stocking fillers, I listen to them giggling and laughing for an hour or two then we head down , put the kettle on and let them open some presents, and the day begins....
