Even if that causes a global famine? That would be Putin, not the west to blame as he has planned it. Russia and Ukraine provide one third of the world's wheat along with a lot of maize and other staples. Already prices have rocketed across the middle east and Nth Africa. That will impact most on the poor. The next wave of immigration won't be those with smart phones and a pocket full of money. It will be millions of people bringing nothing and offering nothing. The surge in prices will fuel soaring food inflation — already at a seven-year high of 7.8 per cent in January — and the biggest impact will be on the food security of poorer grain importers, warned analysts and food aid organisations. Ukraine accounts for 90 per cent of Lebanon’s wheat imports and is a leading supplier for countries including Somalia, Syria and Libya. No discussion about how the west could negotiate peace by agreeing a no nato expansion pact or get peace keepers into dunbass to protect ethnic Russians from 8 years of shelling.....no its all about how Britain must let any Ukrainian into the UK unconditionally . Doesn't matter we have no homes for our own and thousands of families living in b+bs Get em in! Forget peace we see an opportunity to get even more people in 5
