People can relate to it.......big sports shows require showmen, I bet Ronnie coming out with all that doubled the viewing figures. I disagree mate....did you go to watch Dicks and Mcavenie or West Ham ?.....did people go to watch George Best because he was a good time charlie or because he was an unbelievable footballer.....im not sure personality plays any part at all in team sports as far as being attractive to fans go,s....but only my opinion of course.

Used to love the snooker halls back in the 80,s....proper dens of iniquity round our way That's why I can watch it, knowing how difficult it is makes one appreciate the skills involved. And remember they are playing on tables with smaller pockets than a club table. A few years ago when working nights regularly I had a spell of a few months playing daily down at my local club. I noticed that a fella who was always playing on the next table was a break building machine, I was gobsmacked at his ability. We got talking to him and found out he was an ex-pro called Barry West, he was in the top 16 at one point in the 90's. Now he looked unbeatable but you have to think he would look terrible against the worlds best competing today. Edited August 11, 2020 by Greb147

I love clubs like that tbh, that's why I still have a soft spot for BDO darts. There's something about playing snooker or darts in a smoky, vintage decor club.

Steve Bull... i saw him at a Wolves game once he was getting stuck into the singing/banter with everyone else he came across as a good lad.

And oliver mcall. But then lewis did what a champion does, and beat both of them in the rematches. Fury still unbeaten because he's fought no-one with any proper world class ability. And he's almost lost a few times to complete outsiders that weren't even proper heavyweights lol, cunningham for example, cruiserweight really, 15 stone, fury 18 1/2 stone. Or even wilder 1st fight 15 stone 2lb, fury 18 1/2 stone lol. 2nd fight wilder 16 1/2 stone fury 19 1/2 stone. Doesn't sound like a world class heavyweight to me, let alone the 'best ever' lol With the weight advantage he has over everyone he's fought, he should be actively engaging and fighting them, not prancing about away from them trying look as though he's 'untouchable' lol And just to go one further, if you really think that 2nd fight with wilder showed off fury's 'technical, superior boxing skills, ring iq, and superior footwork' then I give up! He did what he should've done in the 1st fight, against a guy he outweighed by 3 stone. But he wasn't exactly an accurate sharpshooting puncher with great skills and footwork. It was messy, ragged, he was punching wilder to the back of the head, his arms, was hitting wilder to the side of his head with the inside of the gloves, was leaning on him, holding him, even falling over him, what with his ring iq and masterful footwork! Lol Wilder, the great 'untested' protected, can't box properly champion, beaten by fury, who now, because of that win, is rated no 1 lol, the mind boggles Edited August 11, 2020 by shaaark
