And I bet he hasn't had an attempt on his life has he ......Not to my knowlage mate, no! Think one of his sons went on to join the RUC, the other is/was a fireman IIRC.. I guess getting a phone call that two blokes are waiting outside for you with AK-47's and having a bomb put on your car tops it all.... He must have been off his rocker because when he left the army he stayed there with his missus that he met and got a job as a postman. I guess the Nationalists' knew who he was.... I would suggest he likes to tell a few stories ......He was in the army over 20 years, who am i to doubt him....You don't believe it then? He is talking shit mate ... any soldier that supposedly had two guys waiting outside with ak47's or a Bomb under his car would be out of Northern Ireland in a military second .... when you do a residential tour of NI you don't just live in a normal house on a normal street you live in a guarded military estate ......Did you read what I said, this is after he left the army.....You didn't make that clear ... anyway ... if it was after then he is still talking shit as they rarely miss their intended target once let alone twice and they wouldn't have been waiting outside for him they would have been in through the door and shot him where he sat .......How the hell do you know he's talking shit? When I said mix it with the locals I meant putting yourself in a situation where your car can have a bomb put on it and you can get phone calls warning you not to leave the house because of two PIRA sat out waiting for you, lol. There weren't many deployed units that would get themselves into those situations. I don't doubt your great uncle managed to pull while going about his tour. The old dog!
