The Triple X (glass) factory in Larkhall put in a flock of 50 to stop thieves....the villagers ate well that Christmas.....think they ended up with 4....... gnasher16 31,602 Posted February 23, 2015 Report Share Posted February 23, 2015 (edited) I think you,ve just got to keep treating your place like you,re still in a city and not fall into relaxed countryside ways.....keep locking cars,doors,outbuildings etc.....if you want to do it on the cheap put up signs round your property of some sophisticated security system,if you dont mind spending a few bob put the signs up and get the system installed .....but then how far do you want to go,timers ? retractable cattle grids ? the list is endless. And on the entrance to your property have a good strong lockable gate and a couple of good yard dogs. Some highly visable CCTV cameras and clear the place of all scrap and a good tidy up! I think I will take a friend with me, plenty of space and less times when no one is around plus company round the fire is always nice eh? I already have a Collie, and a few geese. Maybe a sign on the gate saying 'gates in constant use, no parking'? As for the 12 bore suggestions, I doubt I would get a license living in a static but would be handy if only for the foxes.
