Best Way To Deter Unwanted Visitors?

Geese? The Triple X (glass) factory in Larkhall put in a flock of 50 to stop thieves....the villagers ate well that Christmas.....think they ended up with 4.......

Put a couple of drop guns around the place......use mono to link them up.....nothing puts the keechters up them like a 12 gauge going off in the dark....

Tell that to those who live in the country and make peoples' lives a misery with their thieving ways: knew a man who lived in a village for years, moved into open countryside, no close neighbours ...

an a post box that says tony martin on it

Get more people on the site. Got any barns that could be rented out to someone with a vehicle repair business ? Rent part of the site out as a builders yard, or to a small business that needs space li

In seriousness;

As said, 12bore mines set up to a trip, geese, dogs, llamas  (these things are nasty as fec)

Also as already said, you see them, take phots and be upfront about it. If they say anything tell them you have their picture/reg etc and to hiss off ;)

I think you,ve just got to keep treating your place like you,re still in a city and not fall into relaxed countryside ways.....keep locking cars, doors, outbuildings etc.....if you want to do it on the cheap put up signs round your property of some sophisticated security system,if you dont mind spending a few bob put the signs up and get the system installed :D .....but then how far do you want to go,timers ? retractable cattle grids ? the list is endless.

a good guard dog but id keep it in the house or porch if you have one, that would give more peace of mind imo.

as for going out and videoing them, not a good idea imo if you're alone, some obvious cctv cameras working or not would be better imo

As stated dogs will deter some, I know if my dogs barked nighttime I'd be out there shovel in hand ready cause there normally quiet. CCTV warning signs also a good idea

BUT

I'm telling you, best thing you can buy animal wise is one big b*****d of a boar and turn him loose.

I would fence the place off and plant a deep row of thorny bushes round the fencing - something like blackthorn. And on the entrance to your property have a good strong lockable gate and a couple of good yard dogs. Some highly visable CCTV cameras and clear the place of all scrap and a good tidy up!

Thanks for all the ideas lads!

I am liking the idea of gleanies, noisy and taste delicious!

I think I will take a friend with me, plenty of space and less times when no one is around plus company round the fire is always nice eh?

I already have a Collie, and a few geese. Maybe a sign on the gate saying 'gates in constant use, no parking'?

As for the 12 bore suggestions, I doubt I would get a license living in a static but would be handy if only for the foxes.

Only downside I can see at the moment is I haven't seena single bunny on the ground yet?
