Best Way To Deter Unwanted Visitors?

Recommended Posts

Get more people on the site. Got any barns that could be rented out to someone with a vehicle repair business ? Rent part of the site out as a builders yard, or to a small business that needs space like a fabricator. Get the right people in and make the rent nominal, payback for using the ground is making the place more secure.

Tell that to those who live in the country and make peoples' lives a misery with their thieving ways: knew a man who lived in a village for years, moved into open countryside, no close neighbours ...

If you live in the arse end of nowhere, get used to dodgy fuckers nosing around. In fact if you live in anything less than the heart of a bustling village, get used to it.

Make your presence known, if some f****r pulls up in a flat bed for a good look around, get out and take a photo of them and their truck. And don't be discrete.

Spot on if you go on the offensive straight away word soon gets round and folk start to leave you be that's why keepers and farmers are always cunty to folks lol

Facts are,..if a low-life divy really wants to slink over a fence or garden hop,...and chor your belongings,.it is up to you to make life difficult for the verminous fecker...Lots of ways to achieve some measure of security,. nothing is guaranteed and no method is 100% foolproof,...but you have to try. Vigilant dogs are top of my list...obviously robbers can avoid them and if desperate, will inevitably try to silence them,.but for the average opportunist thief,.that is often a bridge too far and they usually look elsewhere.

I hate the feeling that one experiences , next morning,.after being hit,...it is a sickly, gut wrenching mixture of anger and pain.....The best way to avoid such an experience is to keep your affairs as private as possible....

Thing is Donna you answerd your own question in your first post.

Simply being there and getting the place strait will show that it is being invested in and that alone will put people off noseying around. They simply wont know who they'll bump into and will stay clear. We are heading up to summer, plenty of work to do so invite people over to help and socialise, especially in full view.

When i moved to my house it felt very strange when the silence was broken by a vehicle, footsteps or voices but get on with it, its natural, be up front and make your presence known and the place your own. Time will show you...

Best of luck. ;)

Guard dogs? Cameras. Flood lights? A karate midget . African security lol

I like the karate midget idea, you get an intruder release the midget and shout SAY HELLO TO MY LITTLE FRIEND like pacino in scarface.

A flock of geese sound like a good idea.

a good big guard dog and some decent fencing and greet everybody with a 12 gauge under your arm with yes what do you want , cctv is good even if its old scrap one that don't work just make sure everybody can see them if your ground is open then a few of those alarm guns set out will make them run when it goes off

Not sure how big this place is but I'd fence it in or at least fence in the house and the sheds clear the scrap away so there's nothing to make people stop and get a sensible sized guard dog like a Rottweiler behind the fence loosed not on a chain also I know a place that has a loud speaker wired up to a Spenser that says very loudly your are on camera the police have been called please remain by your vehicle obviously it's just a bluff but it does put the frightners up people
