  1. Terry d. Just doing some of each, pheasant and venison Scotch eggs. Simple as hell. Got the recipe from Sporting Gun. Jok.
  2. I've one of these Chinese water stones which are outstanding. They're double sided is rough on one side smooth on the other. Very expensive but good bit of kit. Jok.
  3. Trying to get them tusks in must have been interesting. Nice job. Jok.
  4. Cragman. What the heck can you possibly do with venison in a slow cooker except ruin it? Mind you I'm being slightly critical in as much as the haunch and inner/outer fillets are exceptional needing very little cooking. However foreleg/ neck and other bits and bobs make great pies, casseroles and stews so maybe it makes sense. Would suggest a look at Hugh Fernley Whittensol's cook books to get a bit more out of your beast. Jok.
  5. Dauphinois with garlic. Fillet of venison marinaded in sweet chilli and olive oil. A nice fruit gravy like pear or Apple. Bottle of red and away we go. Hard to beat. Jok.
  6. JayJat that's Jim Chick's daughter. Jok.

Nope. Izal and semolina/tapiocci were about the worst. Having said that, we ate some lovely things that I'll admit few today would stomach. Tripe, chick lungs, tongue, etc. Strange as well, not sell by dates and I can't remember mum going to a supermarket because there wasn't one. The home made bread, OH I'm going to get boring now but we never suffered and always ate well. Jok.
  8. Now that is ferreting at its best. Well done son and good pics at last. Jok.

Can't remember them days. We didn't know what money was LOL? School meals which were pretty much inedible and them 1/3 pt bottles of milk which were more like yogurt. 7 mile walk to school and invariably a smack in the head for being late home. Black and white TV. It just could'nt get any worse. Jok
  10. Good because my family are starving.LOL I'm putting on weight thanks to your ineptitude. I'm eating more pheasant, partridge, pigeon, rabbit, venison and a mix of the most amazing sausage mixes you can imagine. Get on it pal. Time is short. Jok.
  11. Nice one Matt but to anyone watching, WHERE IS MY FCKG ZANDER?? Get your arse in gear and get me one you reprobate. LOL? Jok.
  12. Oh! Such a shame. And such a photogenic bird. Can't imagine anyone wishing them dead. Jok.
  13. Blinking Eck pal. There's hundreds of the damned things in our area. Every fishery is plagued with them. Jok.

When I left home at age 15, I got on a bus with no knowledge of where I was going to end up with £18 in my pocket. Eventually ended up in Northampton and booked into the YMCA. £4 a week. That w tight times I can tell you. Jok.
  15. Yep. Good call. I just cut them long giving me plenty of work room. Never thought about ova though. Jok.
  16. Well son this could be your day. Mk1 locator (recently recalibrate do) 8ft plus 2 collars. All working brilliant. PM me if interested. Jok.
  17. Go with the flow. We were having pregnant does in November so what do you do. Stop. I don't think so. Carry on mate until probably the first week in March. Jok.
  18. I'm not judging but maybe this should not be shown.!! Shooting over a road when there is a legal requirement to distance, maybe I'm wrong. Anyway I'm glad she got the shot. Jok.
  19. Dan. In my opinion 2 yrs minimum. I know folks have done it in less but you still have to think about the drying and splitting. Imagine doing a dream stick only to have it deform. jok.
  20. Ok. Let us all in on the secret. Let's h ave a look. Jok.
  21. Very unusual. In fact as a rule the rats will bolt like billyo. Vixen with young will defo kill. Been there. Jok.
  22. Adam. Thank you for your kind comment. For what it's worth , we wouldn't go anywhere without long nets. No matter how rough they are deployed. Nelsons nets with the cradle are all we now need. Alright bolt holes are purse netted but the days of netting every hawthorn, blackthorn, holly bush, bramble or gorse bush are thankfully gone. I say this as am getting a tad long in the tooth. If this young man (guessing here) can get some joy out of a redundant net then fair play to him. I just hope he lets us know how he gets on. Jok.
  23. Well guys, seeing as how there has. Been a couple of likes. The net with pegs is nearly on it's way to Robdog. I [BANNED TEXT]'t, as you you would , to check it was ok. Fck me it is a 50 yarder I reckon and must admit would have been a nightmare for a newcomer. However, unraveled and sorted, I think the lad has a chance. Had a word with W.Katchum who will help if help is required. Faking brilliant. I did not mean to take business from you Nelson. Just trying to help out. Jok.
