I agree and predict that over the next few days the venom that had been directed at the UK will subside. Most of this vitriol has come from within the EU hierarchy as they are desperate to avoid any blame for the Brexit and to try and stop other countries from also asking for a referendum. However, inside the governments of member countries they will also be aware that they will come under pressure if trade with the UK is not maintained. There are elections in France & Germany next year and both those countries export massive amounts to the UK. Their industries will be feeling vulnerable a

I've been watching one in our large conifer tree. It flies round one side, picks a twig and then flies around the other side to build its nest. I'd have thought that they'd be done with that by now. They are not common over here like in the UK. I hardly ever see a flock of more than ten. Even out in the vast arable areas there aren't any about.

Thing is that the EU committee are playing hard ball whilst the member country's leaders are being more conciliatory. There are elections in France and Germany next year and they will need to reassure their industries that they won't lose out. Meanwhile in lah-lah land Junkers and co. have thrown the teddies out of the pram and are clinging onto the gravy train for grim death. One of them stated that they were worried that the uncertainty about the UK exit would cause 'populist' dissent about the EU. For 'populist' read 'democratic'. Democracy is what they fear.

Its a sign of the times. Nobody accepts defeat these days. They appeal and appeal against the appeal and take it as far as they can trying to get their own way. The EU ministers are shit scared of this triggering other countries to get a referendum. One of the EU council stated that they need to get this over and done with as quickly as possible so they can close down any 'populist' activity in other member countries. Read 'populist' as dissatisfaction by voters. The EU are showing their true colours now. It is all about stopping people from having their say. Fortunately the EU cannot

Good points. It is only by being outside the EU can the benefits and health systems hope to survive. At the moment EU regulations mean that anybody with a EU citizenship is entitled to the same benefits and health cover as the UK population. Same in France and the rest of the EU. The big difference is that the rest of the EU doesn't have anything like the same benefits and health systems that the UK have. So any immigrants are better off in the UK whether they intend to work or not. Someone from the Middle East can swim ashore in Greece or Italy, register as a refugees, get EU papers and be on

People need to realise that Daily Mail headlines are not the full story. The reasons that Norway for example have to follow EU rules is that they are a net exporter to the EU and much of their exports are fresh sea foods that don't travel well at the profits they an get from more local markets. The UK on the other hand is a huge net importer from the EU and if they want to continue to sell their cars, fruit & veg' and kitchen appliances over here then they had better bend over and take it right up the deficit!

I see the EU hierarchy are acting like spoilt brats demanding that the UK trigger the exit strategy immediately. No concern for due Parliamentary process or the fact that the guy who lead the Remain campaign is hardly the right man to lead the exit negotiations. Just reinforces the reasons why the UK voted to leave IMO.

It has been averaging around €1.26 over the last year. It is now €1.23. That is less than 3% and only caused by the money market's predictable reaction to any uncertainty. If you'd been offered €1.23 three years ago you would have snatched their hands off. If you'd have been offered €1.10 in 2011 you'd have done really well. http://www.xe.com/currencycharts/?from=GBP&to=EUR&view=5Y pound against the dollar has declined in the last 20 years , its no fault of brexit Yes, the true determination is about the Pound against the Euro. That is what it is all about. But that do

Your own posts are hardly adult and reasoned are they? France is teetering on financial collapse. Their unions are dictating to the government in the same way that UK ones were in the 1970's. Only last month the country was crippled by strike action and the reasons for the strikes hasn't yet been resolved. Also last month the ECB had to bail out several of France's major banks by buying off their debts using freshly printed Euros. As for democratically elected leaders; Sarkozy and Hollande have hardly covered themselves in glory. But the pound isn't circling the toilet bowl,

The EU and the European Court of Human Rights are two totally separate organisations.

BoJo's a shoo-in, I have crystal balls... Since I've been outside the UK for 15 years, I'm disbarred from voting, even though I'm a British citizen living in an EU country, therefore more than a little affected by the outcome of the referendum. A bit like all the Polish plumbers, electricians and builders resident in the UK who didn't get to vote... and boy, are you going to miss them when they all go back to Poland! well the next time your standing on a beach in Brittany waving bye bye to GB, take a minute and ask why you are able to do that in the 1st place, it's down to the men

Don't get the impression that Coypu Hunter's views reflect those of the French people. Current polls show over 60% would also vote to leave the EU. True the majority of ex-pats living here will probably have voted Remain but that in the main is for purely selfish reasons including the loss of annual pension increments, devaluation of the £ and questions on continued health care. According to the newspaper 'Le Monde' the biggest fear now for the EU heirachy is stopping other countries from folowing suit. there is increased pressure on the leaders of France, Holland and the Czech Republic an

No one's had the balls to stand up to the EU since Maggie's day? Different situation old chap. In Maggie's day the member's PMs ran the show. Now they are like passengers on a bus. They can suggest a better route, but the bus goes the way the driver steers. The EU cannot be changed from within. The only way to influence it is to leave and let it fall apart. Then and only then will the EU return to its honest roots - as a trading organisation.

The fascists across Europe are all slithering out of the woodwork, crowing at the New Dawn and demanding referenda... what exactly does that tell you about what you just voted for? http://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-36615879 You really do talk some schite. What do you prefer - a predictable slide into a Euro Super State bereft of democracy, or the chance for your homeland to stand up for itself and lead Europe out of the quagmire that the EU has become? Like you I left the UK for a better life. But unlike you I respect the UK voter's rights to choose the path that is right

Back To Basics - Iron Sights On An Air Pistol
Nicepix replied to Nicepix's topic in General Airgun Discussion
I'd be happy with that. I've never used a CO2 pistol. But I have had a few CO2 rifles including a 1077 that was a repeater. The problem I had with CO2 guns is that the power level varied to a great degree and that made judging the range a lottery. Probably wouldn't be a big issue on a 10m pistol range or if the gun was regulated (if there is such a thing), but for normal air rifle hunting I found it frustrating. With the 1077 the first two or three shots sent the pellet at the speed of light then it would be fairly regular for a dozen or so shots and then drop off considerably. If I -
What groups? He's fired one shot in the general direction and another one at the pellet hole. That's a one shot 'group', the other shot was his target Thing is; if he really can use his field craft to 'always get REALLY CLOSE' as it says in his signature, you have to wonder why he needs sticks to shoot?
-
Thing is if that target were me you wouldn't have managed to get in range to shoot at me. I'd have spotted your gun barrel wobbling about all over the place

Sticks have their place in air rifle shooting. They allow women, children and the disabled to enjoy the sport

The French I know are not interested in football. They are mad keen on rugby though. Shame that you are leaving as the weather has just changed for the better. 32C and no rain today. I've been out mole trapping in shorts and sandals instead of wellies and waterproof trousers.

I've never know a team defend a losing position so determinedly. They knew that they needed to win to have a chance of going through yet they played like they were 1:0 up in a cup final. Bizarre!

First half went well and then Slovakia could give Mouhrino a lesson on parking the bus in the second half. Once they took off an attacking player and replaced him with a second left back Clyne became ineffective. Prior to that he was the best hope of creating a goal. After that it was like banging their heads against a wall. The only thing I think they could have tried is to fall back into their own half, draw the Slovaks forward and then try and hit them on the counter using Vardy. The constant pressure of the last fifteen minutes just compressed 11 white shirts into the 18 yard box. No way t

Back To Basics - Iron Sights On An Air Pistol
Nicepix replied to Nicepix's topic in General Airgun Discussion
Never been interested in target shooting, or clays for that matter. I always prefer to hunt and have always had good opportunities to do so. I could regularly have three pigeons dead in the air with the semi and using the same gun come back with 7 out of 20 on the sporting clays. My heart was never in it. Same with guns really. I only bought guns for hunting, not collecting or winking over. I don't think I've held a pistol since I was in my teens. But now, with no hunting opportunities and the weather not conducive for fishing I thought I'd kill two birds with one stone and get a pistol I coul -
