Yeah pix, nice one and my shooting buddy is going to be told "I've had an idea..." Might be better to wait until winter to drop your new idea to him. The middle of July might not be the best time to try it out I will make believe I'm planning ahead,we often discuss tactics and stuff that we never actually put into practice... I know someone else who does that

It certainly could ruin a young man, but I just fear we'll never move forward without a risk, Allardyce Bruce etc aren't risks you know what they bring, I think they are club managers though, allardyce works hard on fitness, then keeping a solid hard to beat shape, it's served him well but f**k that for the national side. He don't get the time wit the players to get all that into them, he's a slow burn to get results, not knocking it it's a compliment if anything. But who have we got? Eddie Howe? he did a great job last year to keep Bournemouth up, plus they played some decent footba

Yes, when they are on the new buds it is the same. If you can find a tree that is ahead of the rest so they concentrate on that you can have some good sport. Same in winter if there is a snow fall. Find a rape field and spread your camo' scrim down on the snow about 25 yds out from the hedge and sit still just down wind. No deeks, just the 'false crops' showing through the snow is enough to get them down long enough to get a shot at them. Or if you can find a small area that has thawed it is the same sort of shooting. Pigeons will try and get to the small area of crops showing above the snow.

The only two things I miss about living in England are pigeon decoying with the semi-auto and squirrel hunting with the air rifle. I'd hoped to be able to find some pigeon shooting out here but there just aren't anywhere near enough to justify shooting them. The noise issue of shotguns isn't entirely a negative thing. The bang of a shotgun can often cause birds that have settled elsewhere nearby to lift and fly around. They may see your deeks and fly close enough to get a shot at them. Where I used to shoot pigeons we had an arrangement with nearby shoots and farms in that on Wednesdays we

My Dutch neighbour has borrowed my Pro Sport to deal with a rat problem he has. He was asking what air rifle to buy for himself and I saw that he could get one or the other of those for €465 in Holland. That is a lot of rifle for very little money. https://www.db-schietsport.nl/en/air-guns/walther/ -
Totally agree and so would most cereal farmers. Let's not forget that the point of this thread is to suggest that you can convince a farmer that you can shoot more pigeons with an air rifle than the shotgun users. There is a lot of back pedalling recently, but the first post suggests that you can 'usually' gain permission by telling farmers that you can shoot more pigeons with your air gun. It is a shame that Mark did not read (or possibly preferred not to acknowledge) the points I made about his suggestion on how to decoy on laid wheat using an air rifle. I'm sure that those who know a li

Put in context, not the edited version; "I wondered if you might allow a few days decoying to me, I only use precision air rifles, no noise. A typical farmer usually replies with "more noise the better" - keeps the buggers away! I always reply, yes I can understand that but you shoot a lot more pigeon when they have no idea you are there." Intimation that using air rifles would enable you to shoot a lot more pigeons. That is what you meant. Now let us examine your latest comical suggestion: "Shooting pigeons on growing crops is one of the deadlie

And there are plenty who will strongly disagree about your comments especially regards air rifle users being more efficient at protecting crops decoying than shotgun users. If you've ever used a shotgun with decoys you would realise that. A decent bag with an air rifle would be a fraction of an average bag with a shotgun. But of course you haven't got the experience to know that Mark has shot guns bud i think any way and as for shot guns and bigger bags iv taken out 380 + crows in three afternoons with air rifles the thing with shot guns is the bang it makes them all feck of

Match was decided by a refereeing mistake. French defender wrongly penalised for handling and the French didn't manage to clear from the free kick. Match was so finely poised that's all it took to swing it. Payet should have been kept on IMO as he and Pogba are the main threats, but to be fair neither shone last night and Deschamps has been lucky with tactical changes throughout the competition. Also disappointed at the way some of the Portuguese players feigned injury to try and get their opponents sent off in extra time.

Make the best of it. Sheep farms offer opportunities for air rifle shooting and also trapping in season to reduce the corvid numbers. Any farmer with a barn will probably have rats and / or feral pigeons especially if they keep feedstuffs in it for winter feeding. Every cloud and all that Please put some of your hunting photo forays up( nice tits), - you are so inspirational, " I learn "so much" from you ,with respect" Please don`t do a pistol and rat scenario you recently posted - in front of " the customer" ffks. When the young leave the nests, for about a week or so they are quite naive and you can sometimes knock the whole brood down in a few minutes. They will just hop about in the bushes. Once they have wised up though its a different matter. There are four youngsters nicking our soft fruit every day and I can't get at them as my air rifle is still with my neighbour on rat shooting loan.

Shooting Permission Wanted In Doncaster South Yorks
Nicepix replied to peanuter77's topic in General Airgun Discussion
A lot of the smaller farms around Donny have partridge shooting syndicates on them so chances on those locations will be zero. And the larger farms are corporate owned so again, little opportunity. There are some large garden centres and horticultural dealers and a lot of horse paddocks out towards Bawtry. Loads of rabbits to be cleared there. same with the quarries, but as Phil says; there isn't a shortage of shooters and much of the land is poached to death. You can forget the western and southern areas for that reason alone. I used to have some shooting from Billingley through Marr and Hoot -
I've got no pictures. Don't need any. As I said before; it is in what you post that lets people know whether you know your stuff. Things like saying that an air rifle shooter can clear vermin off crops better than someone with a shotgun, or that his time of year is good for air rifle shooting over crops doesn't really do you any favours. It is noticeable as well that you went back to June of last year to show a decent bag of woodies. As they say; every picture tells a story

Shooting Permission Wanted In Doncaster South Yorks

Think outside Doncaster you mean. I'll bet there isn't a square yard of farm land that isn't poached to death. pissed myself laughing Drive around the outskirts of Donny on a night time and you'd think there was a Subaru Owners Club rally going on. And they've all brought their dogs too -

We've been off touring in the Midi-Pyrenees region of France. The other night we were on a remote little camp site in the middle of nowhere. They had a small outdoor bar / restaurant with a TV and it was packed with locals watching the Germany v France match. We knew the score just from their reactions, and after the match the car horns were sounding way into the early hours. Reminded me of when Greece won it a few years back. I was in Cyprus at the time and the party went on to well after dawn.
