I'll have a punt on Rab unless Davies is persuaded to run in which case I'd go for him. I think that the Stop Boris campaign will prevent him from winning the last vote. In some ways it might mirror the French elections where Macron got in just to stop le Pen winning.

It is a complicated subject. Under EU laws all fishing grounds are allocated to members states on a quota basis. Spain has virtually no good fishing grounds of its own but has the biggest fishing fleet in the EU. French boats from Normandy and Brittany fish exclusively in British waters and would go out of business if deprived on those grounds. The Spanish market for fish dwarfs the UK market and their trawlers and factory ships need to access UK Atlantic grounds to fulfil their home markets for fish. Some of the UK fishing grounds can also be accessed by German, Dutch and Danish trawle

The only way now is to leave with no deal to undo what May has thrown away. Once the EU realise that they will lose trade, fishing grounds, and have lorries full of perishable goods standing on the docks waiting for customs clearance they will soon push to continue what they have now. Emporer Macron wants to exclude the UK from some EU projects. Fine. And when EDF come round to negotiating their power generating contracts with the UK government they can be told to take a running jump. There are others who will take up the contracts and they don't have to be inside the EU. Same with fishin

That will add quite a few votes to the anti-EU parties results. If he had any sense he and Verhoftwat would keep their heads down.

Signs are for other people to obey. Not them ?

John Deere JX75 - the addiction goes on
Nicepix replied to Nicepix's topic in Home Stuff, Building and Leisure
Yep. I've fiddled a bit, everything was dismantled and greased up and got the gear selection sorted. 2nd is perfect for cutting around the flower beds and 3rd for long stretches of open grass. Even Little Wife wants to learn how to use it ? I'm looking for another one as a project. -
Worst mole trap ever, for me ! (Putange)
Nicepix replied to earth-thrower's topic in Snaring, Trapping & Pest Control
Without actually examining them it is hard to say. What I can say though is that they are not the ones used by many of the French pro's as they use traps with sloping prongs, not those at 90 degrees. Also, they aren't Lucifer, another popular make, as the steel on them is slightly thicker than the Ratpack ones seem to be and also not as shiny. They don't appear to have the tiger stripes that a lot of the traps made in the Far East have but it doesn't say on the advert whether they actually make them or buy them in. The prongs look to be very close together so the spring strength looks to be OK -
They've got Henderson and VVD in the dressing room. They don't need Kompany for that role. As for spending a lot of money; I don't think so. City are the ones who need to dig deep to replace Aguerro and Ferhandino who are both getting on a bit and crucial to them. If Gundogan decides to leave they will need two ball winners and I can only think of Griezman to fill Kun's boots and BM, Real and Juve will be after him.

And worms are insects too ?
-
I see them regularly in winter here in France so they must be eating something other than insects. But given the OP mentioned markings on their chest it is worth mentioning that common buzzards nearly always have a shield like pattern on their chests, but their plumage can be anything from very pale to very dark with little consistency even amongst siblings.

Mole tunnels don't always run straight. If the mole digging the tunnel comes across an obstruction it will change direction and sometimes they are curved for no apparent reason. If I can't find a good, clean entrance both sides I'll fill it in and look elsewhere.
-
Well done! But you got lucky. There would have been another hole. You just didn't find it. Always poke around with a bit of bent wire to find both ends of the tunnels and also check to make sure that there isn't a third or fourth tunnel as sometimes you open up a junction.

And the best thing is that Sheik Petroleum has failed once again to buy the Champions League ? p.s. City have had as much success in European football as Everton ?

At least beavers are safe from him ??

When Klopp went for his job interview at Liverpool he went to a few pubs in the City and spoke to some fans to get a feel for the club. The fans loved that. In fact they like him so much they didn't nick even his watch. ?

City are playing to different rules than the other teams. Who else can afford £80m for a midfielder they rarely play? Or £50 for a defender they leave on the bench? Other than ManU of course, but they buy rashly and discard their mistakes whereas City can afford to stack up a second eleven who would still be in the top four which blows your argument about top players not going to clubs to sit on the bench. City's financial situation is under scrutiny and I hope that they are forced to change their policy. What Liverpool have done to keep pace with City this year is amazing. They need anot

It always amazes me at how petty some football fans can be. Wasn't it Klopp who said that he never celebrated another team's defeat when asked a stupid inflammatory question by a reporter? Top man!

Moles are coming out of my ears at the moment. Virtually all my contract customers have had moles trapped or new activity to be dealt with. Even had 3 moles in 24 hours in the same trap in my garden! You'd think they'd know better ? Little Lily indicated another trapped mole in the same trap as before. She run on ahead and checked under the trap cover. Trouble is, it seems to be a fluke as she has not shown any interest in other traps with moles in them. The ones she has indicated have been in one trap in a garden I've been clearing for about two months so I reckon she's working on memory

Yes and no ? There is a definite psychic connection between some people and their dogs and sadly many people never get to understand what their dogs are telling them because they simply are not capable of understanding them. But, also some dogs are more than capable of making their own minds up and reacting accordingly sometimes in a manner that their owner thinks is out of their normal behaviour. As has been said earlier dogs have access to senses that we lost thousands of years ago and their sense of smell is amazing. One of the key triggers of a dog reacting aggressively towards s

Anyway, back to the subject matter; before Barton (allegedly) assaulted the Barnsley manager they were in looking like losing the automatic promotion place to Sunderland whereas now they could end up as champions. They should erect a statue of Joey Barton and put it next to that one of Dickie Bird where nobody will see it. YOU REDS!! ?

I've only ever had three dogs from being pups. All the rest have been re-homes in one form or another. The last dog was a total basket case physically and emotionally when we took her on at 18 months old and it took more than two years to straighten her out. But she made a lovely dog and had a very happy life including being a great beating and shooting dog, something nobody would have believed if they saw here when she first came to us. She was also useful for indicating caught moles and finding traps that foxes or badgers had carried off and abandoned. I hope Lily can learn to do the same.

Thanks Jamie. She is an absolute treasure. She is the second dog we were never going to have. The last one, a springer, died two years ago. We got Lily from the local dog sanctuary. She is a 3 year old Fox Terrier x JRT and had been taken from a family who had neglected her. She had never been in a house, had little human contact, no training and basically left to her own devices. When we got her she was shell-shocked after the previous life and oppressive kennel environment. She was skinny, had a gut infection and had just been spayed by the charity so it took a few days before she sta

My friend used to put malt loaf down for them. It clags up their mouths so they hang around while trying to clear the roof of their gobs.

Just caught my first youngster from the second brood that usually arrives towards the end of April. 8 moles in 3 new garden jobs. Plus the new terrier we got from the sanctuary in Limoges at Christmas has marked her first trapped mole She's been coming out with me a few times in the last three weeks and has started taking an interest in what I'm doing. This afternoon she was running off ahead and came across a trap cover. Next thing, the nose was down under the cover and she marked the find. First of many I hope. ?
