Yes, I can understand that. But times and needs change and getting the extra capacity will, or should, improve the club's competitiveness in an increasingly cut-throat business. You can't fight change so at least take heart that the necessary changes being made will benefit the legacy of the club, and nobody can take away your memories.

Too hot to fish so prepared some bait
Nicepix replied to Nicepix's topic in Fresh & Salt Water Fishing
It is dead easy to make - 10 minutes at most for a grapefruit sized ball you take out of the freezer, use some and then put it back when you get home. Everybody knows that chub like cheese paste, but carp and barbel love it too. The pastry is for bulk, the grated cheese adds elasticity and protein and also makes it longer lasting on the hook, then add whatever flavour you want; I've used grated luncheon meat, Marmite, blue cheese, tinned tuna or crab meat and fish based cat food. The whole ball only cost €3. -
Still over 30C out here and someone has stolen a lot of the river water or so it seems. So I took the opportunity to add some ingredients to our shopping trolley today and set about preparing a bit of bait for when things improve. I'm nearly out of cheese paste so made a new batch up... Ready made shortcrust pastry from the chilled food section, Emmental grated cheese and some salmon flavoured cat food..... Spread the grated cheese............... Add the cat food and make a pizza ?..................... When you've squished it all togethe

West Ham are on the right track. ? They've increased the capacity of the ground and are turning the revenue from those attendances into good signings. I think that in the next two years there will be two distinct divisions within the Premier League clubs like Everton, Leicester and West Ham in the top part with Burnley, Southampton and Brighton in the bottom half fighting to avoid relegation every year.
-
They'll be over 20 points shy of that target. Big gulf between 6th place and 1st.

I think this might come back to haunt you. They had a decent base before Rogers arrived and he has strengthened it quite cleverly in my opinion. Signing Tielemans after his very successful loan period and buying Perez gives him two proven goal threats to back up Vardy who is still potent in front of goal. Madison is also showing potential. Losing Maguire is a blow, but they have a Turkish international centre back Söyüncü who is under the radar of most folk. He looks like a good prospect, another Huth. Their holding midfielder Ndidi is one of their unsung heroes and Pereira is class too.

So, the new season is almost here. Who will triumph and who will suffer the dreaded drop? I fancy Liverpool for the title because I have a hunch that City will throw everything at the Champions League this year. Spurs or Chelsea for 3 & 4 but in which order? Both have their issues, but the transfer ban and depth of quality should give the Spuds the edge this year. Arsenal & ManU for the next two? Hmm. I'm thinking an upset this season might be on the cards. Leicester or Everton perhaps. Wolves could be up there if they can overcome the extra demands of European competition with such a

They have a border between Switzerland and the EU. There are no hold ups, trade and people flow freely. It can be done.

Given that the EU exports over double to the UK than goes the other way, and that a lot of Ireland's exports to mainland Europe goes via the UK by road I think you should ask the question of what happens to EU exports to the UK.

I've had nine dogs, no pedigrees and only three bought as pups,. My first cost five bob from the local farm when I was 7 years old and a couple of ISDS registered sheepdogs that made cracking gun dogs I bought about 30 years ago. All the rest including the current incumbent have been hand me downs from one source or another. I beat with and shot over the sheepdogs, herded cows with an unregistered GSD who also flushed and retrieved game birds, herded sheep with an unregistered springer spaniel who also worked a beating line and retrieved from a hide, hunted the ultimate quarry with two donate

I don't think he was quite so plain. But, it needs making clear to remove one of the main leverage points the EU have been applying. Then Ireland and the EU can sort out for themselves whether they want the Spanish and French lorries to sit on the docks with rotting cargoes of sea food awaiting customs clearance.
-
Yep. If Boris doesn't deliver Farage will blow the two party system apart. It will be the end of the current political cycle. I'm just waiting for Boris to state the obvious; "We won't create a hard border. If Ireland or the EU want to make one, that is up to them. But we won't put one up."

The Beauty Of Nature, "add Yours"
Nicepix replied to kriti's topic in Wildlife and General Photography
Your photos are very good. Looks like mine is a much older version of the one that you have. It is fine for most things but tracking fast moving targets, particularly in macro focus mode isn't good. Scenic, landscape and still life shots I can't grumble at. Can't justify the €600 needed to buy the latest version. I've always been into photography and done quite well in competitions and even sold a few photos to magazines until 2006 when a serious eye injury meant that I couldn't use a view finder. That condition lasted about two years so I sold all I had in film cameras and the Fuji -

The Beauty Of Nature, "add Yours"

I've only got a bridge camera these days. Can't compete with Pinnacle & Arry's beautiful macro shots, but I still enjoy a bit of nature photography. I got the urge again this evening. That's about as much as I can manage these days. I found an old shot from about 10 years ago on the old compute from the days when I used to have a decent macro set-up....... -
You wrote: " The EU make policy and the individual member states choose how to enforce that policy and even though the beginnings of the EU (the old EEC) were all about making trade easier the formation of the EU from 93 to present has moved towards authoritarianism. " That is totally incorrect. Read the EU's own publications I posted earlier. It can and does ensure that laws are enforced throughout the EU. Anyone can be found guilty of something they haven't done, or acquitted of something they have done. That is the lottery of courts. The standards of justice might differ dependent on

" Directives. Each directive contains a deadline by which EU countries must incorporate its provisions into their national legislation and inform the Commission to that effect. The Commission assists member countries in correctly implementing all EU laws. " " Regulations and decisions become automatically binding throughout the EU on the date they take effect. Directives must be incorporated into national law by EU countries. The Commission monitors whether EU laws are applied correctly and on time and takes action if not. I don't agree with your first sentence. If the EU introduce a policy they also instruct member states how to implement it. That is why the V4 are being punished for not complying with the EU policies on refugee immigration quotas. That is why Greece and Italy are being punished for not keeping to the financial rules. It is also a way of making sure that small EU countries don't veto policies benefiting large EU countries. How else can they achieve the dream of 28 totally different countries all agreeing on EU policies? Of course the EU are authoritarian. It goes without saying that they h

No I don't. The EU have no power to compel countries to oppress their own people. In fact they took steps against Spain in respect of the way they arrested the Basque Seperatist leader and handled the attempt of independence. I think the EU are guilty of a great deal of oppression against member states, but not in the Stalinist methods.

IF it happened it didn't make the French news either and they aren't shy about reporting these sort of things. What I did see a report about is an isolated incident whereby one of Macron's personal security staff donned some riot gear and beat up people. This has been widely reported along with the reports about how Macron has kept the guy in a job far longer than he ought to have and the speculation about him and Macron being lovers.

Thing is Wilf that 'The EU' is actually two entities. One is made up of power crazed Eurocrats who are on to a good number and want to keep it that way. The other is made up of Pedro the fruit farmer, Pierre the trawler man, Fritz the car worker, Luigi who makes fridges and Hans who operates a crane at Rotterdam docks. The Eurocrats aren't likely to lose their jobs and if they do they have a gold-plated pension to fall back on so they don't give a schit. The other crew however could lose their livelihood so when the push comes to shove and the UK actually walks away they will lobby their MPs w

The EU will not change their stance now because of the UK Government's indecision. It is to late to do anything about that now except to exit without a deal. Then the EU will offer the terms that Davies could have negotiated if he hadn't been hamstrung by his Prime Minister. At the end of the day the best resolution for the EU is for Brexit to be cancelled. That is what they have been trying to achieve from Day 1. But,if the UK does leave then the EU will not cut off its nose to spite its face. The UK will get a far better deal than Norway or Switzerland based on it taking far more EU go

The best way is to locate swims where barbel are likely to be and try half an hour to an hour in each until you locate them. Good places are where a faster current runs alongside a slower one. That is called a seam. Deep channels and channels between streamer weed are also good places. You often find deeper water on the outside of bends and if you can locate overhanging trees or bushes then fishing a few metres upstream of those can bring you some nice chub and barbel. The tail end of weirs can be good in summer. Put a PVA bag on with some pellets or broken up boilies or small pieces of l -
Correct. Of those nine countries some receive more back in trade within the EU than they put in. When they hand the dosh over to Brussels and Brussels then divvies it out to the poorer EU countries they then spend these grants and subsidies on EU manufactured goods from Germany, Italy, Spain and Holland. Because the UK doesn't manufacture as much as some of the others they are net importers of goods from the EU, not net exporters. That means the UK isn't getting the same returns on their EU payments that the others are. In effect the UK are subsidising EU businesses. Also, what man
