    The Edge

Nice one fella.. Nice couple of pics too!!!
  5. Well people I managed to get to the range yesterday and was blowing a gale so Stu who owns the range was kind enough to let me shoot indoors at 25m in the pistol range... Well what can I say, the HW 97KT is unreal... So easy and comfortable to shoulder, accurate as hell, I absolutely love it !!! The difference in shooting springer to pcp is day and night... Proper enjoyed myself shooting both rifles although the 97 is going to take some time to get used to I was happy with my grouping by the end of my session... Future plans are to get lots and lots of practice in at the range,
  6. Thanks for all the reassurance that I've got myself a good rifle lads, heading to range in 1/2 hour or so to see how we get on... I've read Pianomans post re technique, obviously I'm not expecting great results after only shooting pcp recently but with time and practice things can only get better... Defo gonna get it tuned/internals polished as I've done a lot of research and it appears to change the rifle dramatically in positive ways but it won't be by me as I'm useless and the least mechanically minded person... I'll keep you posted with my thoughts and possibly some pics of my
  7. Still quite young, all advice I've had on here is let the pup be a pup, rule of thumb is usually about 10 - 12 months old and make them easy runs on the lamp... If pup keeps chasing rabbits and having runs it'll end up getting really frustrated and you could spoil what might be a cracking dog, also you want to avoid too much stress on bones, tendons, ligaments etc at such a young age... Just my thoughts and what I've learned/read on here from experienced people..
  8. Well on the off chance on Thursday, couple phone calls and found a MINT condition HW 97KT with Hawke 3 x 9 x 50 scope, rifle only 6 month old and I reckon I got a bargain, rifle, scope, gun bag and full tin of pellets for £350 Heading up to Swarland rifle range on Sunday morning to tats it all out - can't wait... Gonna get a good few tins of pellets through it and get used to it 1st while I save some money for a tuning kit and pay someone to do the necessary for me... So I have an AA S410 pcp which has I just got back from AA after a full service, seals, firing valve replaced and
  9. What's the new gun Matt ??? Don't keep us I'm suspense.... I purchased a mint HW 97KT with Hawke scope on Thursday for £350 - only 6 month old and practically new You may be getting PM re tuning and kit on near future mate
  10. Hi all, Just been searching net for custom stocks for my AA S410 and come across a fella on couple other air rifle/shooting forums called Geordie (Gordon), he's based in Newcastle and makes custom stocks, just wondered if anyone had any contact details for him or have had any work done by him ??? Thought I'd ask on here as I don't really wanna sign up to another forum just to contact him... Cheers fellas...
  11. My mate got a whippet pup off Mike Brown 2 1/2 yrs ago, sure he gave £350 - £400 for her... Nice bitch, well built, she game as fook...
  12. Nice clean shots fella... Well done..
  13. Ha ha ..."Wish I had a bloody dog with me", made me chuckle mate... Least you been getting out in the field and not just plinking at the range... Nice write up...
  14. Cracking photo, face on too which for me makes it even better... Well done...
  15. Have a look on Working whippet forum There's usually people posting threads up of future litters and plenty advice for your needs HTH
  16. I think it's more in relation to this particular forum/part of forum is related to working dogs 99% and 1% showing them... Just about everyone in this forum is itching for summer to be over and autumn/winter starting as that's the time for working season to start... Regardless of weather, come hail, wind, sleet, hail, rain or snow, dogs need walked, exercised and worked... Nice that you show your dogs fella and good that they winning rosettes but most people on here that have dogs work them and hose em down afterwards - not take them to a salon... My whippet lives in the house as h
  17. Personally I like Bigmac's idea of black stain/dark stain then you get the best of both worlds and have nice stealthy looking finish but keeping it natural...
  18. I was shouldering both TX200 HC and HW97K last week at local Gun smiths, both are beautiful rifles and the TX200 HC honestly felt more comfortable and natural but only by very very small margin... I'm still undecided as my worry is how awkward the "bear trap" on the TX200 is during cocking - feels like is be swapping hands all the time ??? Anyone got any views on this ??? I've read the TX200 HC is excellent straight out the box and HW 97K is very good but also excellent once tuned... I'm swaying towards a HW97KT but would appreciate peoples views/opinions of bear trap on Air Ar
  19. Maybe you could offer some vermin shooting permission in return ??? Especially if your family have farms, Would defo help with you request...
  20. Has anyone got any more info on this please... Postcode/address and times ??? Can't find anything about it for 2014
  21. Yep - working whippet forum is good for your needs, no bitchiness on there to be fair, just good, honest advice and as website name states - all about working whippets.
  22. Nice little write up fella... Sounds like pup knows his job and gonna do you proud in the seasons to come, good that ur step daughter is showing enthusiasm too... Atb mate.
  23. Nice find... Really good watch
  24. That's canny sh1t crack fella... Don't understand why people can't just mind there own business, you're in your own garden/grounds doing your own thing, not bothering no one and not likely to be loads of noise or annoyance and he feels the need to put his nose into someone else's life and start causing problems/issues... His life must be that sad he wants to spoil yours... Some funny people around.
  25. Harley, pure Whippet... 1st ever season for Both me and dog but hoping to get out with experienced people to learn the ropes... He'll be 12 month come middle October and already showing signs he gonna be good rabbitting dog - nice and flighty on his feet, eager to please and appears to have good prey drive...only had 2 bunnies so far which were daytime while out just free running/walking in nature reserve/fields but retrieved live to hand so high hopes.
