  1. look though there 4x16x50 one mate of the mtc . i have that on the 22lr and i would have the same for the hmr if i didnt allready have a scope for it. you dont need a massive mag scope for the hmr mate ive got a 6x24x50 but i never go pass 16 on it and most the time stick to 8 to 12 on it. the crosshair on the mtc is very good i find at different ranges on 22lr. and gives confidence i find when shooting i seam to me able to lock on real quick with the mtc crosshair. if not look at the simmon 6.5x20x50 like before you mite not use all the mag range. but at £100 pound it has great field of

  3. well i use to hunt with 22cal when i was around 16 to 20 then i had a days shooting with my brothers brand new air arms s410k in 177cal. after that i got a 177 daystate harrier pcp. then i move on to a air arms s410k. ive had 2 s410k in 177 now and my old man still has one to. ive had rapid mk2 in 177 and 22cal the only reason i got a 22cal again was to fac it. but as i hadnt got round to the forms at the time i swapped it for the 177 rapid mk2. i perfer the 177 cal in 12ftlb as its flatter shooting then 22. plus i think its more forgiving then the 22 in flight. i would never go b
  4. 177 for standard 12ftlb power. flater and can shoot up to 40 yards where 22 i find max range 30 to 35 at a push.

    FAC Air

thats right mate 30ftlb for fac air is about right .70 to 80ftlb is abit much as the pellets distort with that kind of power. you can get the daystate slug pellets bu there very dear. not only that even at 40 pound your not going to get much extra distance then a 30ftlb. plus just that extra 10ftlb takes alot more air up and isnt as accurate i bet at 50 yards as the 30ftlb

  7. he has been extremely helpful, and again thanks alot jamie G. i will remove the pic your welcome mate i no how hard it is to get all the forms sorted and land sorted and ref's sorted. so helping anyone out is good i thing if you have been though it yourself and good for our sport. im sure one day you will be helping others out to ive only had my ticket 9 months so i dont no half the stuff the others no on here! but will pass on anything i have learned off here and the other forums. you will pick loads up mate just keep reading all the threads of the other lads on here and y
  8. hi where does your dad shoot if he has the rifles ? surely he has to have ground to shoot over if he isnt in a club.? as for the farmers you dont have to have them as your ref on your fac mate. the only thing you need off them is a permission letter saying that you can shoot there and that they will let you use rifles, shotguns, air rifles on there land. if i where you get out and about and ask for some permission on the farms around where you live. yorkshire has loads of land so shouldnt be to hard. get some pestcontrol cards made up offering your service for free. and get insured to. and

  10. you do mate but it doesnt have to be by the farms or places you shoot over. anyone of good standing can be a reference. i got to people from the local youth club i use to go to years ago to sign mine for me. there where ok as they look after the young kids of today. so in the eyes of the law people that have trust. but it can be anyone really with good standing. just no smackheads, drug dealers, gangsters

  12. get some cards made up and go round some farms mate and ask. if they say no still leave a card and you never no what happends in the future. dont feel down if they say no just be polite and say thanks for your time. good luck and keep trying
  13. ha ha that happened to me mate. we where filming some rabbiting using hmr and 22lr and i was talking away about different things because i forgot about the filming. we are going to make a good one this year of tree rat shooting and lamping rabbits. but it can be had at night as you need one on gun. one on lamp. one on recorder. and of couse the rabbits move so the guy on the recorder has to keep the zoom right. so the rifle man waits for him to do that then when it comes to shooting the rabbits ran off
  14. bit of a ring of that t8 mod wasnt there mate. he dropped before the noise of the gun going off ! sure was jamie nice shooting though must agree mate top shooting. he has some other ones on his profile. i cant wait to try and make a couple of shooting dvds soon to .

    FAC Air

i disgree mate at the end of the day fac air will be safer then 22lr even if it has the 35ftlb bullets. plus fac air is good to use in trees. you can get low powered subs for 22lr but i still wouldnt want to shoot them in the air. plus there not that accurate i dont think. you get a good robb lane mod or a john bowkket carbon mod for the fac air like i have and mine is as silent as a 12ftlb air rifle and mine is running 30ftlb ! it depends on what ground you have at the end of the day to the 22lr still mite rebound on parts of some peoples land. where the fac air will cut down on that.

    FAC Air

hi mate the air wolf is a cracking rifle. but alot of money if you go and get fac air then go secondhand and for a gun that is allready fac'd is cheaper then having to get it done. the only thing i will say against the airwolf is it wont be as easy to adjust the power like a rapid 7 would be. i would go for the rapid mk 2 if i where you. i have a stalker s10 fac and i find it better then the rapid. but again its not as easy to fine tune like a rapid is so the rapid is your best bet.
  17. i think it is a cracking rifle very underrated mate. which is good as you can pick them up cheap as for the power it will be under 12ftlb which is the legal limt if you havent got a fac ticket. best thing you can do is take it to a shop get them to crono the power and set it to just under 12ftlb with the pellet of your choice. but find which ones shoot the best in it 1st
  18. as for killing vermin its the shooter. the gun wont do it for you but if i was to have one. i would have the raider its a very underrated rifle imo and can be found for cheap now.
  19. bit of a ring of that t8 mod wasnt there mate. he dropped before the noise of the gun going off !
  20. here is some good shooting i found on youtube. sorry if any of you have seen it before. you mite be able to see the one if your not a member 22/250 v fox at 300 yards

  22. is he sold mate where about in the uk are you ?
  23. 20 is fine from the 4x4 to plus if is a pick up and your on the back it dont matter anyway
  24. my best is 17 in a night but you can only shoot what is there in front of you. i find worcester doesnt have as many rabbits as my friends ground in hereford. i no he has 200 times as much land as i do. but every farm i see as them on there in the bucket load. he said 52 is his best. but i no it could be beat easy. and one night we will do it and see what we get overall with the 22lr's the jeep and the lamp. could do with 4 people really say driver with lamp and lefthanded shooter in back behind driver. then a righthanded shooter in the back on left behind a lamer in the front passeng
  25. get the brooks kit. but if you want to take the overall pull down abit for the time being take a couple of coils of the spring that will cut the overall pull down abit. and if you want to get it better then see what its like and adjust the nut on the bottom of the spring abit more. the only thing your find with doing this is your noitice the creep more now the pull is lighter. thats where the tubes come in from the brooks kit as for the style mate good choice. is it the 16inch barrel you got ? i have that one and i dont think it can be beat for price, build, lightness, and accuratcy
