i no a guy that has just been granted 243 1st time of asking mate. he hasnt had rifles before. he has only had shotguns. which he has had for 30 years. best thing about it is he has got to have mentoring to ! and he comes under west mercia like me. which if you no they are not easy to get stuff off sometimes. ie'' they like you to have mentoring and like you to pass a deer course 1st ! so he must have met the feo on a good day ! good luck fella and by the way the spelling helps so make sure you get it looking good. do what i did get your girlfriend to fill it out and you sign it my sp

Stainless or not stainless that is the question!
jamie g replied to iorri's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
hi mate you on about the outside of the mod as stainless or the internals of the mod ? if so some mods have stainless internals so they last longer from the blast of the rifle. as for the outside on none stainless ones they will be fine as long as you put some oil on after use. -
ive seen them from about £ to £110 mate depends on the condition

lightfore 140 or 170 would do nice

Interesting and somewhat frustrating night out...
jamie g replied to Mr_Logic's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
good right up why not take the 22/250 out for abit of fox control fella havent seen any pictures yet with you using that. it needs to be used it would be if sat in my cabinet but the way the turn around time is still going for me to add it to my ticket it will be sometime till that happens Without a moderator, 22-250 is too loud for night work unless you have X thousand acres to roam about in. I would use it all the time if it had a moderator on there. My ticket is back tomorrow (going to get it from TVP HQ) so then I am moving on the 223. Part of that is the sale/par -

nice shooting lads you racking them up at the minute what sling is on that rifle by the way mate im on the look out for a good one on my annie and that looks like what im after.

well abox of 50 22lr rounds = £3 and a box of 50 17 hmr rounds =£11 to £12 pound i perfer the 22lr of a night as with a silencer and sub sonic ammo its allmost silent. as silent as a air rifle if not more. the only really noise is the 40grain ammo hitting the rabbit and of a night you can get closer to rabbits then day so i find its cheaper mate. if you can get rabbits into 100 yards at night which is easy then there isnt much point in using the more pricey hmr round plus like i said the noise is lound compared to 22lr so if your shoot isnt that big the more silent you can

went over to my friends last night for a bit of foxing but only saw two but it just must be that time of the year. as i have seen anything up to 12 foxes there some nights ! it was a very still night not abit of wind so i bet that didnt help. the 2 we did see where way out around 400 yards+ and the just wouldnt come in. never mind there is allways next time. so as i took my 17 hmr over we done abit of rabbiting instead. there were loads out but the fields where very wet so couldnt drive round them all. still we had 8 rabbits 6 where bucks so that was good and two where doe's one had y

Sorry to be picky, but in one breath you say the Anschutz is the best HMR, and in another you pick holes in it saying you're not happy with the mag, stock or price?????? The HW has great accuracy, a great trigger and a beautiful stock. .......oh and it's cheaper too... im not picking at it mate i think it is the best. but at that price two things could be better on it ie stock and a bigger mag. the stock is fine if you get a thumbhole one. but as for the mag 4 shot isnt that good when ruger do a bigger capacity mag to hold more bullets. in most mags the annies get the best write

it depends what you want in a hmr really. i have the annie 1517 and i think its the best hmr you can get. but as the 17 hmr round is a accurate bullet anyway there isnt much if any! difference in any of the different make rifles. ie a annie isnt anymore as accurate as a cz most of the hmr rifle well group under 1inch at 100 yards. its up to you really if i was getting one again then i would get a cz and get the trigger kit for it. you would have money left for a good scope then. or if you have one for it allread.y you could use the money for a mod and bullets and clearning rod and bits

had a lamb on my shoot and he had his guts ripped out. fox wouldnt have killed him so he must have died of something else. but the fox was feeding on him as i could see where he had been. anyway the next night we went we waited and he was back to feed. so my mate let him in range and then he feed him with the 12 bore but we havent been there for a bit and the last time we went i counted 6 in one night and i no there not the same ones. and that is only on 100 acres or less. so will have to hit it soon again.

22/250 ammo here is the same as 223 ammo so i guess i will be ok once i get mine. as for 222 or 223 i would have the 223 more choice of rifles more choice of ammo. hold value better to i would say. but they say 22 is a more accurate round out to 200 then 223 but if a rifle can group 1 inch at 100 yards which most can easy then it will be a dead fox at the end of the day no matter what cal centrefire you have. what i would say is there are some nice cheap 222 around at the minute which would be a good buy. just make sure your local gunshop has the ammo in stock if you dont reload

go for a bushnell elite 6x24x50 with side px. from the usa or a burris of the same sort of mag mate. both top scopes and at good prices over there
-
good luck mate im in the same boat as you i have 22 and 17 hmr but have only had my ticket 8 months. so im hoping that dont go against me. by the time my police force get round to it ! i would have had it 12 months or more anyway

i perfer them to the rapid. dont get me wrong the rapids are good ive had a mk1 in 22cal and ive had 2 mk 2's one in 177 and one in 22cal both great rifles. but i perfer the stalker s10 i have now. better trigger, looks better, and shoots better. and as silent as a 12ftlb air rifle !

the wilddog stocks are they only out for the remmingtons mate ? or do they do them for other rifles like sako ?
-
Baldie You don't think leaving oil inside the barrel before firing is a good idea then? What the fudge are Savage arms and Precision Shooting Magazine playing at then, they could get someone killed I won't be doing that in the future I want all my fingers Thanks mush someone told me they leave abit of tape over there barrel. so when they take it out to go shooting next time they no to patch out the oil 1st

the mounts are about 200 pound extra for the pm 11 scope !
-
to be honest there isnt that much difference in them all really. i have a sak and dm80 the dm80 takes the blast away but the crack is still there. no matter what mod you have the crack isnt going to go away. as for the sak i find there is blast and a crack with these. where like i said the dm80 and ase take the blast away. but down range i dont think there would be much difference anyway ? most the noise is at the shooters end so only you hear the most noise and that isnt going to bother a rabbit. well inless he is sitting next to you well you pull the trigger

mine is the full lenght one. standard barrel. but ive heard the bullbarrel carbine is a super little rifle very pointball to
