  1. good choice these and great for the money. gavin the guy that does them is sound he will sort you out
  2. yours must be the compact then mate or the cqb ? more for centerfires then rimfire.
  3. 4000 fps with amax head ! good foxy wont no whats hit him
  4. cheers mate so would the 40 grain bullets go faster then ?
  5. i see mate cheers. i wont be home loading for it as i wont be using the rifle that much to jusify the cost. so factory ammo will be fine. i will try the sako and hornady ammo in 50 grain or 52 grain which ever it is. what sort of fps does the factory ammo give out of a standard 24inch barrel ?
  6. what twist rate are 22/250 rifles 1-12 to 1-14 is it ? so they like lighter bullets ? say 40 to 52 grains and because of this twist they dont handle the heavy bullets very well as the cant keep them as stayble at distance is this right ?
  7. air arms pellets are good i find in 12ftlb rifles. or you could try jsb pellets if you can find them. air arms pellets are made by jsb but i find alot of damaged pellets in some tins of air arms pellets sometimes. where the jsb branded ones seem to be damaged less
  8. thats ok mate least your sorted now save the t8 for a centerfire if you have one or plan on getting one in the future
  9. the bsa at fac power will get you 35 to 40 shots with the standard lenght barrel. if i where you and going fac in the future then get the standard lenght rifle not the carbine. john bowkett is the man to speak to about bsa rifles mate. he has done the work on mine and i cant tell you how good he is. the rifle is a dream to shoot
  10. take a look at the one in my sig mate its a fac one done by the man himself john bowkett. he blueprints them and can fac them to if you have a ticket. he uses his own light weight regs in them mine is 28 to 30 ftlb and i get 40 shots from the little 200cc bottle. john makes carbon silencers to at cracking prices. the one on mine is a over barrel one as my barrel is screwcut. and its as silent as a 12ftlb rifle mate ! i have johns number if you want to speak to him. he mite have the odd rifle for sale. if not he does all sorts of tuning work and backs it up to. if anything go's wrong even 3 to
  11. be careful if you use it on a centrefire as well mate. as i was reading a thread on one of the shooting sites. cant remember which one now anyway the guy had been using a t8 on his 22lr and then sometime later put it on a centrefire he got. and it went tits up as the unburnt power what was left by the 22lr went boom. must have been litt up by the the centrefire bullet passing though so just be careful fella
  12. that is some hole. he wont be getting up nice shooting fella top stuff
  13. i no what you mean mate. a 7x50 or 8x50 weather its a meopta,s&b,ziess, swaro. then its going to be very good and clear on foxes and rabbits out to the ranges you where on about. thats where the price of the scope comes in. and the clearness of the optics on those scopes are great. but some of the cheaper fixed mag scopes wouldnt be as clear as those at that ranges and if no one can aford those prices of the top fixed mag scopes. then they mite as well get a good clear big mag scope plus some big mag scopes has differnt aim points on them. and if you can download the charts off th
  14. nice shooting mate. and at least you finished the rabbit off so he didnt die a slow death your have to get out with the 22/250 and take some foxes. i want to see the pictures then
  15. not sure if there is any after market kits for it mate. but you could allways take a couple of the coils of the spring to take abit less overall pull off the trigger
  16. have a simillar sscope not happy poor qulity especialy at distance i wouldnt use a 10x40 at distance mate. i think these scopes are better off at rimfire ranges and use a bigger mag out to 200, 300, yards have hmr17 also have discovered mag not strong enough 4 distance shots over 100 yards u recon 16 or 18 mag would suit better ive got a 6x24x50 mate but i never go over 16 on it really. it depends on what scope you have ie'' 16 mag on a cheap scope isnt going to be as clear as 16 mag on a top end scope. i had a 6.5x20x50 simmons whitetail on my hmr before. you can get h
  17. have a simillar sscope not happy poor qulity especialy at distance i wouldnt use a 10x40 at distance mate. i think these scopes are better off at rimfire ranges and use a bigger mag out to 200, 300, yards
  18. the rifle will be use for foxes out to 200 yards or maybe abit more. but only when im use to the rifle as i wouldnt shoot at ant live stuff at those ranges inless i was sure of a kill. as i wouldnt like to injure anything. 200 yards would be the most on one part of my shoot. as i have a big wood at the top most of the time the foxes come out and down the field. but sometimes sit just out in a safe area just outside the wood i no it would be a safe shot if i took it on as the bullet would go into the ground not in the wood. so that is 200 yards to where they are out of the wood at the top.
  19. i no depending on what weight bullet you use and that. but how far out could you aim bang on if you set it at 100 yards ?
  20. ive done alittle poll on the bbs. but as there is a lot of guys on here that are not on there i would like to no what 22/250 you guys have I zero my .22.250 one and a half inches to two inches at one hundred yards that should be on target out to about 330yards thats good but do you have to aim under if something comes in close say 70 to yards ?
  21. a man with many rifles this guy luck sod
  22. both top rifles mate l havent had any sako rifles but from what ive heard and buy how many people i see that has them then im sure they are top rifles. saying that i no a couple of people that have the ssg and that is top rifle to god its a hard pick. there are bargains out there secondhand to be had as long as the rifles are looked after. and not beenshot out. thats the best thing about buying them off someone that just hunts with the instead of range work. the pics you sent be of your rifle look great and well looked after
  23. depends mate really ? 22lr rimfire for rabbits upto 100 yards. but some people stick to 70 or yards with them. they are cheap to run and are allmost silent. so great for night time shooting or when you want to keep the noise down on a permission where the farm dont like alot of noise. eley sub ammo is £3.26 for 50 round here but my mate at kiddyminster gets them for £26 pound for 500. then there is 17 hmr rimfire which a lot of people have now. its a rimfire but but over twice the power of 22lr. if you use sub ammo in 22lr it fires about 1050 fps where as the hmr fires about 2500fps w
  24. ive done alittle poll on the bbs. but as there is a lot of guys on here that are not on there i would like to no what 22/250 you guys have
  25. so which is the best out the 2 rifles above. i got loads of time to pick as my ticket will be away for abit as there is a big backlog but that means i have more time to save. i hear the ssg cant be rebarreled ? is this true anyone ? would like to here what you guys on here have in 22/250. and how do you find them and what range do you zero them at to.
