  1. shame im looking for the hornady 58g vmax so he won't be able to post them to me. any chance he'll be able to post them to Bradshaws. also, good powder for the vmax? varget??? ive got the vit n150 at the moment yes he can go rfd to rfd mate. but there be a charge of course. its 243 your using then i take it. could try varget have a look on reloading sites see what they use for 243. my mate uses vit 150 in his 22/250ai varget is abit quicker burning
  2. yes you dont have to have it proofed but it would be against the law to sell it onto someone else. my barrel isnt proffed on my rifle since i had it screwcut. but im not planning to sell it on. if anything i will hav the gun rebarreled next year to 22/250ai. not that my barrel is worn i just fancy something else or 243 ai
  3. hey mr l a mod is classed as a firearm. thast why it has a slot on your ticket. its silly really that you can leave a standard air rifle mod out and there is nothing they can do about it ! but if you leave a mod out the gun cabinet off your rifles your breaking the law as it should be locked away
  4. i have a coupl i think there called mtm i will have a look when im home. they hold 30 rounds and the bullets clip in to it
  5. seen this before and tho it is a very powerful rifle you can tell just by the way there holding it that they dont shoot guns often. thats why it looks worse then it is
  6. Not long at all, I zipped them open and my mate dropped the guts, done them in three batches as we went round the farm, so we don't get hit with them all end of the night and it stops them blowing up, quicker the better.. best bag ive ever seen mate. wish i had a shoot like that. how much ground where you shooting over for these ian About 300 acre the farm its all pasture as its a dairy farm, could of kept going, but it was 03:30 in morning and I had 50 mins to get back, so was getting sick ...I'll be back on there in a couple of days.. The neighbouring farms around the estate a
  7. good lamp but big. 170 is better i think. but the 240 can come in handy when you really want to spot stuff at distance

  9. good if you can get into it. as above ring round some places and ask. even if you only get a couple of days aweek to start
  10. i was at reloading soultions yesterday by oxford. aftab the owner is prob one of the biggest reloading dealers in the uk. yet he told me getting stuff from the usa is really hard at the moment. arveyboy your not far from reloading nr kiddlington. give thema bell he mite have what your looking for. and mite even be able to post them depending on what 58 grain bullets they are. if expanding then no but target bullets yes. norman clark is in rugby mate
  11. you couldnt use 17 hmr mod on a 22lr if its a true 17 hmr mod like a whisper or a dm80 as the exit hole is to small. sak ones are fine as they are made for a 22 cal bullet
  12. yes thats right if his dad had other rifles ie 22/250, 308 etc then even tho the lad could use the 22lr he still wouldnt have keys to his dads safe as he wouldnt be aloud to get at the other rifles. you must send off to police to get it added to your ticket. lending it is a big no no im afraid. its not like shotguns. or tho ive seen it say on ticket about lending ?
  13. that is right. if a mod is stamped 243 then you could us it on any cal up to 243. but some places only stamp a mod for said.. caliber ie 17 hmr then they only like you to use it on hmr, if he wanted to use it on 308 then thats different matter but he wants to use it on a caliber with smaller bullet so all will be well
  14. Hang on a mo . . . If your dad has his FAC conditioned for a moderator on the 22-250 no sweat legally. Whether the 243 mod is safe to use on the 22-250 is another question. I'd say yes but I can't claim to speak from experience. Theory says yes but don't find out the hard way! Ric cant see why not ?
  15. yes check stock screws, mounts, try with mod on and off. try a different scope on it if you can. my money is on the ags scope gone tits up tho. no of a couple of them which wouldnt hold zero
  16. he can as long as he has a slot to use a mod on 22/250 which im sure he does i dont no how the law works tho about filling the slot. i guess he could do it so he uses the mod for both rifles. the main thing is tho he has a slot for a mod for 22/250. as for the ammo then reloads are best but if you only want to use faactory ammo there a a good amount to try. you need to find out which ones work best for yourself tho as each rifle is different. even if you had two rifles the same make and caliber. i would try winchester silvertips in it 50 grain or 55 grain there very fast and accurate in m
  17. not all cases are seen as bad by the police mate. im sure your be ok. i would tell your flo tho jsut so they no. and it shows you are not trying to hide anything.
  18. be like pissing in the wind inless you have one with 1 in 8 twist. to push heavy bullets. mind on a still day i bet you could get close. hit bloons at 500 yards with 223 before
  19. just speaking to a mate with tikka 223 and he uses 60 grain berger target ammo with 24.5 grains of benchmark powder. and the groups for a factory rifle is superb. but it will depend on what twist you have. if its 1in12 yours mite not be able to shoot the 60's very well where if its 1 in 8 or 1 in 9 twist they will
  20. i feel for you mate but making a mistake once is forgiving but doing a number of things is what they look at. they see braking the law some many times or tho simple things gets them thinking ! ? what if you was goingto come home one night and get the shotgun out because you had fell out with someone. they take these things into account. to be fair if they looked at files of all the people in britain there are prob people that have done worse things then you and got a fac or shotgun. i would seek advise and if that falls through go a couple of years and reaply again for one
  21. as long as you show good reason and can show a amout of safety and the references will help alot. there should be no reason you cant get one.
  22. try uk customshop im sure andrew the guy who owns it had made a 10 shot hmr mag
  23. WEST MERCIA very slow at one point then they took on staff to clear back log. took 6 months for my grant of fac and my dad waited that long for shotgun ticket ! they seam to insist mentoring if your new tho some people i no got granted with out mentoring. i had rifles below from the start fac air 22lr 17 hmr the 22lr and hmr had mentoring on them. i could have prob had it took off sooner but asked for it to be took off when i applied for 22/250. ticket come back 22lr and hmr with out mentoring but 22/250 had mentoring. waited 8 months asked for 22lr and hmr to be op
  24. just get the barrel checked if you dont no history of the rifle
