  1. get 22lr and hmr. and you could allways ask your flo if you could ad 223 in in say six months time. your chances would be even greater if you went shooting someone that has centrefire. who could guide you
  2. nice one good to see the young lad out and about with the old man. if only all the kids now adays spent more time out in the fresh air learning things. instead of being on there computers.
  3. could get a nice zeiss conquest for that mate
  4. yes because you need a powerful blast of air which you wont get from pump. if the gun is fully empty. like what has been said above leave the bolt open to.
  5. good you have had some bags over the last month ian. you could bring a load of live ones down here if you want and let them lose on my permission
  6. if you want silence then use subs. imo 22 hv rounds are no where nr as accurate. and the noise they make you mite as well shoot hmr. and have much better accuracy
  7. did you crono them mr l ? i wouldnt go by what the factory rounds tell you for speed on the box
  8. get it in the 4x16x50 model its more then you need.
  9. Amen to that. Hence my concern about downrange killing power. Will you be reloading? I know there's not much choice of factory ammunition, but at those ranges the Remington 32gr V-Max should be a one shot drop. Ric got a mate who reloads his 303 he says if i get him all the gear he,ll reload for me is there much off a saving and do u still get the same accuracy your get better accuracy then factory and over the long run it will work out cheaper
  10. look on google mate. your welcome to come try mine and see for yourself
  11. i had the lee dies and well there wasnt anything wrong with them the rcbs comp dies i have now feel much nicer to use. and the comp bullet seating die is perfer for bullet alinment when it meets the case. a little slider comes up over the case when you pull the press arm up and you pop the bullet in that slider. it cant go off cam and sits perfect when seated in case you pay your money and take your choice. if i had the money i would have redding ones tho. but i got these at a good price and there more then what i need. any die on the market is more then enough for accurate ammo for h
  12. if you want a top one get a cooper steve. none will be much more accurate then each other. i have a annie as you no and its got your old bushnell scope on it. you should see the bull's i was hitting today
  13. any of the 22lr's will do the job ice as long as its accurate. add a mod and sub ammo and your have a silent bunny basher
  14. Thanks Jamie. The Zeiss is in my top three. I fancy the 72mm objective but Jayzus will ye look at the price! I'll check out Nightforce. Ric 72 is a big front lens ric and you would have pretty high mounts on that so the front dont touch the barrel. ior could be worth a look with big range of adjustment on the turrets conquest is good i have one. not really shot at long range tho. what i would say is your have to have it on a high mount system as there isnt many clicks left on the turrets when mounted on normal mounts
  15. check out the night force range ric. alot of longrange shooters seam to have them. they have good recticals for varmint shooting to. my dream scope would be the zeiss 6x24x56 with 60 rectical
  16. I could lie and say 200+ but I prefer honesty.... it was about 78 yards when we paced it out. a kill is a kill dave no matter if its 70 yards or 270 yards. i would much perfer the closer shots. yes alonger range shot is nice to test your skill. but if i got much more chance of a kill at 70 yards i would take that everytime
  17. yes i think im going to do what acouple of my friends have said to do. get a powerful lazer dot and when you shoot it. one person stay from the car and keep the do on the fox. should be easy to walk to then
  18. went out for quick lamp with my dad and friend. seen six foxes and i shot one, my dad missed one wasnt a hard shot to. i wanted him to get one but somehow he missed. never mind allways next time. i shot at one in a plowed field. ranged at 280 yards. i heard the hit and im positve i got him. but couldnt find it. reallyt pisses me off that does. will go back in the day light to see if he is lay there. bloody hard to find a redish fox on a mud field thats why really soon as you shoot it the lamper should keep it on him so you can go right up to him. anyway here is the picture of a
  19. hi rick im not into longrange shooting but i would think if you want to go long range 500 yards plus then 40 grain bullets form a 204 wouldnt be 1st choice ??? as your having a rifle built then what about 22br round. bigger range of bullets and real long distance with one would be easier then a 204.22/250 speed, less powder, and better accuracy im not saying the 204 couldnt do it but limited by bullet weight. on youtube there is a 22br at 1000 yards ! a nightforce scope would suite your needs im guessing as they have alot of adjustment have a look here http://www.6mmbr.com/22BR.html

  22. better still you could just get a ase and then it wont shine back in lamp anyhow
  23. dont no if its ok or not but if you want to keep 243 as silent as poss then maybe a bigger mod will help more
