  1. yes clear optics is more important then high mag. look at a secondhand leupold or bushell
  2. i would just go with 223 or 22/250 easier to get the componts for. shoots well with factory ammo. and better range with it if needed
  3. air rifle for rats 22lr or hmr for rabbits depends on distance. and 223 or 22/250 for fox. again depending on the land you shoot over.
  4. top shooting. has that 243 got a mod on it ? sound bloody loud ! mind it allways sounds louder on film
  5. top stuff nice shooting. my mate had 2 witrh the 222 last night. and i missed a sitter at just over 100 yards. mind its weird when you shoot someones rifle you never shot before. couldnt take my 22/250 as i have scope off it at moment waiting on some new warne mounts. never mindallways next time
  6. hi mate nicve one. aint going to that fair now and jonty isnt. even tho its a free day out its the same shit. and silly money still
  7. hi lads anyone off shooting tonight foxing or rabbiting ? or abit of both ?
  8. one of theres and imo its better then the battonsound ones. and cheaper
  9. nice one mate. sounds nice my mates 22/250 ai has got one of there barrels fluted to. and very very accurate
  10. where did you have it rebarreled mate what barrel did you go for ?
  11. As 'woolyback' says, Predator 8 all the way for me, mines on a .270 Win, and that's plenty of rifle, without the mod it's hideous, burns your ears right off if you fire three in a row without earmuffs, and I can't stand wearing those! Seriously though I've either tried someone else's rifle, or at least been next to it when fired all of the main makes and calibres. The Ase utra is the best for sound reduction but it looks really cr*p, the T8 is the most common and the PES is the prettyist, but you cannot strip the T8 to de-coke the guts, the Predator 8 is fully strippable, and believe me it g
  12. +1 for the ase. the cqb is about the best for 223 as its a 22 centrefire mod. where the ase compact is 243 and above. there isnt going to be any difference but the compact mite be worth buying if you want to use it on a 243 later on
  13. you didint change the charger connetor did you to.
  14. yes love centrefire my friend is coming over soon has he got free slot from work. he has a tac 20 which i look forward to seeing and shooting. all the 22 centrefires are more then good enough for foxes at the range most come into at night. ie 200 yards is nomal the max range i seam to shoot them at night. 222 will do this easy. i just like that flat shooting of 22/250 at night it helps as i can aim bang on. ive just got some leupold quick release rings for my 22/250 as i wanted something soild yet easy to remove. anyone else got them
  15. thats why i like shooting from jeep it gives you a safe angle of fire on back of 4x4 roof
  16. mate i didnt say rely on a bush i said you would be surprized how if you see the video what one can stop
  17. ypu dont need to lube inside the neck mate. i got the redding lube its abit like vaseline in a little tube. you only need a dab and i mean a dab on the case neck. to stop it sticking in the die. when resizeing soon as there done wipe it off and your away as for firing them all off just pull the bullets with a bullet hammer. see what the powder is like inside. if its all sticky from the lube then get rid of that powder dont but it back in your big tub
  18. ypu dont need to lube inside the neck mate. i got the redding lube its abit like vaseline in a little tube. you only need a dab and i mean a dab on the case neck. to stop it sticking in the die. when resizeing soon as there done wipe it all off and your away
  19. dead is dead tho mate. all depends where the bullet strikes to. i would like a 222 as well as 22/250. use the 222 for night vision im sure i could get one on my ticket. the 22/250 that shot the foxes above is a ai model. so is very powerful and flat. he is getting 3800 fps from 60 grain bullets with superb accuracy.
  20. cheers lads was a good night. like to get a pick up myself but the hilux hold there value well and isnt cheap even for the older models
  21. i see mate. it will go pretty far. but then again your be surprized what a bush does. i see something on the net ages back and they did a test. and only so many rounds from a 223 past through this thick bush
  22. aal will do the job. i would have the ase tho. got a cqb on my 22/250 and imo best money can buy. its small compact and makes a hell of a diffence on the noise report
  23. the key to it is the bullet isnt going to travel far if you dont hit the back stop because you wont be firing if there isnt a back stop have a good read up on google mate. put the different calibers in and it will tell you all you need to no
