went off to jontys last night with nick he was using his 22/250 ai sako and jonty the trusty 222 sako :cool: i didnt take my rifle as i didnt mind lamping with the lightforce and amber fillter on the back of the pick up. jonty had allready shot two foxes that morning on the same farm. but new there would be more about off we set across the 1st field down to the bottom and started a bit of a call just over the fence in the next cut field was a fox top left corner coming down. could see him in the lamp but no bull couldnt get a shot off because he was to low even off the pic

22rf and 17 hmr will be more then you need for rabbits. as for max distance 100 yards with 22 lr if you no the drop and i would say 150 with hmr. some say more but its afected by wind to much over that distance i think to be relieble at that range. those are the distance i think these rifles will perform at but of course in the real world the max distance is what you are good at. and we all owe it to what we are shooting at not to injurie it if possble. there for only take shots you no you can pull off. once you have had more pratice then you can try on targets and then once sure take long

clicks look postive and well built scope. got to be good for that money. they look massive tho and not really for walking about hunting. more target. i would still have the zeiss victory tho

low mounted scope and moderator

i fitted some medium mounts the other day to my 22/250 scope cap was touching the barrel. i put mod on and couldnt see it in sight picture dont forget when the scope mag is turned up the fov gets smaller any how. so if you cant see the mod on lower scope setting then it will be ok. i went to high in the end tho as i needed more adjustment on longer range -

hi mate i havent got any here to check there at home but. there not very thick but storng. i cut round just abit bigger then lamp. then i fit it to lamp and cut snips in them so i can bend the sides over the lamp and then its easy to tap on. then it says nice and smooth on the lamp front with out any creases

got a pair of 25mm warne scope mounts there weaver and size medium. also a pair of 25mm talley scope rings with bases. the bases are for a winchester mod 70 short action. these rings are wind adjusble and size high. all in good condition £20 picked up or £21.50 posted for the warne mounts £25 picked up or £28.50 posted for the talley rings and bases. also advanage timber shooting hat. very warm got from deben a couple of years back. only worn a number of times to small for my big head was £20 posted from deben im looking for £11.50 posted. click links belo

yes mate amber is very good. i get these different films off my mate in red,orange,blue,pink. there good because i can change over but also buteer then the proper fillters as there not thick there thin film. so it lets more light out. but not to much to scare foxes

243 is only ultimate foxing tool if you can get it for deer mate. getting it for fox alone is very hard

moron keep your comments to yourself if you dont like shooting stick to the dog section. but even there lads on there that are not into shooting dont make silly comment like that on here. because they respect that we all have different types of hunting.

what filter do you use now mate amber is good. red does take a fair amount of beam off the lamp.

22/250 fast flat accurate. hard hitting and easy to get ammo for.

got a mtc on my hmr and find it good. not as good as the bushnell 4200 i had on it but that scope was more cash. have a look there is a lot of secondhand mtc's out there to be picked up

its all right them saying that but other things come into play like scope mount hight. then there is what bullets your using. what fps there doing, and other things. best thing to do is get the scope you want. and set up at the range you want and then set the target at different distances and see where your aim points come -
