could try the winchester silver tip ammo in 50 grain they fly in my 22/250 and im sure the ones for 223 will be fast to.
best of all i find the accuracy for factory ammo is very good to
get the ase cqb mod for it. its the dogs bollocks. small compact and superb at shutting up the blast of the 22/250.
i got mine from allcoocks outdoor store in kiddyminster for £265. they mite have gone up abit now but if you can get one around that price then snap it up fast
mate i couldnt do it and still cant do it as well as i would like. but you soon pic it up. just close your hand and suck between your fingers with your mouth pucking like you would kiss your wife. or someone elses wife lol
Thanks for advice.
When you say clear glass what do you mean? I'm not up to speed with scopes and the terminology.
what i mean by clear glass i mean zoom isnt as important on a scope as clear glass. there is no point haveing a high mag scope if when you turn it up the optics are rubbish.
you want something that are bright under the lamp so when you see a fox the image is super clear
a bushnell scope could be had for that sort of money. 5x15x50. good amount of mag if needed. but most of all clear glass is important when shooting under lamp.
zero around 1 inch hight at 100 and your pretty much be on to 200 yards with out aimming off. 40 grain bullets will work a treat
burris. your get the fee bino's plus there good glass. what i would say tho is will the mag be enough for you.
worth looking out for a secondhand secope with more mag
have a look at the savage. looked in sporting rifle this month and review was very good. so was it on the net to.
they say the best trigger on a factory rifle
you would think that but heavy bullets buck the wind better then lighter bullets.
you only have to look at 308 rifle. why does it fire heavier bullets then say 50 grain ? because you need heavy bullets to get the distance accurately.
it would be like pissing in the wind else.
243 is more then you need for roe and yo uwill have a choice to fire heavier bullets up to 100 grains and lighter bullets for fox . im sure you can use 55 grain for fox. but barrel wear would harsh due to speed.
70 or 75 grain for fox would be better i think. good weight and still very fast.
i have old dm80 and i have tryed them all its better. yes not buy much. bu tthe build is 10 times better. thats why i like it. plus its over barrel so nice and compact
be careful using your t8 on 22lr as any unburnt powder in the mod can make it go bang when used back on centrefire.
a guy on one of the forums said it happened to him once
Any sportsman must use what he feels comfortable with. I personally like the hv rounds in my .22. Accuracy never seems to be an issue, i don't make my self out to be any type of crack shot but i can group 5 rounds one after the other into the bottom of a red bull can at around 100 yards and i haven't had a charlie run far yet once i put the cross hairs on him. Ofcourse one must take into consideration the limitations of a .22.
yes your right but has he said he wants it as silent as poss. so hv rounds are still abit noisy. subs are best for his needs
