  2. lol....we did the big pay lakes..ie booking swims etc, now we look for the smaller family run venues, and book the lake for a week for ourselves, last year, the food package was the best i have had over in France, hence were back again, fish wise i had 7 30's and 2 40's...but for us its a holiday with rods...chill and enjoy plus shed loads a beer Sounds exactly my sort of holiday !!!Got recommended a small family run lake by one of our drivers,Les Burons ? A mate booked this years trip and i didnt really get much import ,just said yeah i'll go!
  3. cheers Flipper, ive read those threads and was a bit disappointed, the fish do seem to have grown on ,and lake record is 50+,which is plenty big enough for me,i just cant seem to get any first hand info ,only what Korda publish ,which obviously looks very good!As i know from booking holidays, you check out a resort on trip advisor ,and it can really sway your mind, then you get there and have a great time ,and wonder what people were moaning about?Me and a few mates got a bum deal at dreamlakes years ago ,should have complained more ,but just got on with it and enjoyed the weather and fact we wer
  4. Walshie, did you think the course was any good?Mine was about 5 year ago ,after some classroom stuff in the morning ,we were paired up and went out ont the road with driving instructors for a couple of hours,i thought it was really good ,bit of a refresher.
  5. i would guess that most money made in speeding fines is the people doing 35-6 in a 30mph zone,i did a speeding course for exactly that and out of 24 people only one had been done on a motorway, and that was in a section with a tempoary 50mph restriction,(incase anyone hit one of the cones that that stretched for a couple of miles) As you say Lab ,stricter rules on passing test ,once your 60 years old a refresher every 2 years ,just try and get a better standard of driver on the roads!
  6. gigantica, road lake, they do have bait for sale ,pretty sure its cell ,at 130 euros 10kg ,just fancied taking a bait ive faith in and know who made it !

  10. That would of been a good one,as said its a shame the ones I come across are never in good condition, the moonlanding would have been framed and hung I think if I'd have found it... wish id kept it now, there was also a evening standard from the same date ,me mate had that! They were under a draw lining so in good condition and intact!
  11. found a copy of the mirror ,the day man landed on the moon ,it was complete and in good nick ,got £15 on flea bay for it.

  20. i did like the romantic bits from Break Back Mountain ,if you can call it a western?
  21. blood meridian, what a fantastic book i think it would be hard to do the book justice in a film My thoughts exactly, sort of thought Reverant sort of captured the bleakness, and hardships of life back then, you would probably get a triology out of something as epic as Blood Meridian ,its to big for one film.
  22. Cushty,i broke a mirror last night but when i left the house this morning i trod in gypsy shit in my front garden ,will this cancel out the mirrors bad luck ?
  23. De Caprio's recent ,The Reverant, absolutely brilliant ,id love some one to make a film of Blood Meridian by Mcormac mcarthy ,what the wild west must have really been like!
