  1. Is it as simple as that lads? steralise a container fruit and sugar water, when bubbling add vodka/gin, in a feww weeks strain it off? I had some sloe gin last year off a fella I know, Im sure he just put sloe's straight in the gin? Mind you Id had a fair few pints and then was a couple glasses of that stuff down when asking how he made it!!!
  2. I like the idea of foraging mushrooms but I was once on a course with a fella who taught deer tracking and wild survival. He was telling me about a bunch of experienced trackers he knew went out together for a weekend hiking and didnt come home. when the search team found them they were all laid in and around camp. toxicology reports showed it was some deadly mushroom they had all consumed. These guys were getting paid mon-fri to show people which ones were safe! If it was one numpty I could understand but 6 of em? Think it was in yankee land like but still put me right off. He told me that s

  4. i do like that mr tp! How much are they and where from? Be spot on to put in my garage/workshop/man cave/ shed/holiday home Get em off ebay think they are about 130. My mate has one and takes it fishing when weather turns, gets it to one side of bivvy door gets it well cosy, spot on fo brews n soup n stuff. All flue sections pack inside it and legs fold up so bang on fo fishin/camping or whatever. And no Im not on commission!
  5. have a check around below the tree. If its plum there will be remenants of fruit or stones knockin about? My first thought was it looks like my prolific plum tree. I cut one of the main trunks off it early this year for two reasons, 1 it was heading towards where I am building a shed. 2 thinking it would make the other bit produce more fruit.....In actual fact it produced NO fruit this year! So it could be plum? I wluld say it looks to have had some recent heavy pruning comparing the trunk and the new growth at the top. My other thought was hazel but I did think why would you plant hazel
  6. I'd use 6" flex pipe instead of the ramp. I have pipes in my court varying sizes and angles it's good enrichment, plus no chance then of them falling/ jumping of sides, especially if in future you had kits in there... Im planning on building a full court with pipes and stuff in, what I am doing with the ramp is putting it on a hinge with a latch on the underside of the upper level so I can lift it up and latch in place to split into 2 seperate areas to assist with cleaning the hutch. I have also cut another 2 pieces for a sleeping area wall and door downstairs to replace the small mesh one at
  7. I think the old ones or the fat ones are laid back! Mine would go all day if I had time, doesnt have an off switch. Im hoping once she see's one come out she will sit waiting for the next one.
  8. When I have been wandering with my lab I have let her chase a few bunnies. tonight I have walked her past some warrens I know are used and she had her head straight down em. Im considering starting to introduce her to the ferrerts and takin her out with me for marking. Anyone else tried this with a lab? Obviously she has the nose for it but Im not sure she is steady enough to sit and wait for a long period yet.
  9. looks a nice pup fella and he has proved the potential now. I took my lab for a wander on saturday and she disappeared after a rabbit, in a straight line across a decent field, she went from 60yard behind to about 10 when it got to the hedge. All I could think was if Id've the lurcher I wanted instead of lettin misus get her way Id be takin some fresh rabbit home for the ferrets!!!! Never mind.
  10. https://db.tt/7hQRilHY https://db.tt/6y8cLgq2 Managed to get a bit further with the hutch today. All cutting done. now needs a sand down and stain, hinges, latches, the insulation and cladding and roof felt. I changed my plan from a split hutch to just a double tier. house and food upstairs play area downstairs. Think Im guna put my 3 jills and my hob all in together then just remove him when it gets to that time of the year for the girls.
  11. Did you shift these haymin? look well capable pups. be interested to see how they have gone on.
  12. Im only just gettin into it at 31 and thought I was an old un! Im hoping I can get little uns into ferretin, shootin, fishin and all things that I loved when I was a kid but didnt do enough of. I have 1 girl at the min and she is obsessed with the stinkers.
  13. This is my first time and I'm 58 respect if you are fella, never too old to start something new.
  14. The lad has sold the dog for whatever reason why havent the mods removed the post? This has just become an open persecution. whats the point? It isnt going to change the outcome. The dog hasnt been ran hard and or abused and left in a ditch, he has lost a bit of money rwalised he cant look after two dogs properly and wants to ensure he can give one dog the proper care needed.....funded by selling this dog. I do understand the uproar but IF the same fella came on in a months time lookin for a dog then fair enough but realising you dont have the work for a dog and cant care for two then trying t
  15. I have finally sorted my NV today hopefully. had issues with camera that I broke and waited a minth for new one, then issue with battery failing on me. camera amd battery sorted now and found a perfect little pouch for the battery too, will get some pics up through the week and try and get a list of bits/price together too. I reckon off top of my head it has cost about £100 - 120 without the mistakes and re buys, so if I made another and knew what to get. It is good to 100yards easily and thats on the 20quid camera not 100quid ej230! I still want to tinker with it a bit amd get the torch mou
  16. well it did 2 hours while I watched footy and then I have just been out for a mooch aswwll for an hour or so and battery didnt run out so looking good! Didnt see anything other than a couple of owls but the set up does its job can easily see 100 yards which is double what I need so. well happy.
  17. Check out this item I found on eBay: http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&id=191430670693&alt=web Also orderd this pouch for 4quidish and it fits perfectly. Elastic on it goes through the thumbhole on the hw100kt or around the body of the IMP so can go straight on both my set ups. I will put some drop box links on. Well pleased with it.
  18. Ordered a battery from the below: http://elwirecraft.co.uk/el-products/el-accessories/12v-rechargeable-li-ion-battery-1800mah-2800mah-or-5000mah-for-el-driver-led/ I ordered the 2800mAh one with 1A charger, £27.50 Delivered. ordered sunday arrived today. looks spot on for me, tiny comoared to my last one and I reckon with that mAh should run my diy NV for a couple hours atleast. I only do short sessions so not an issue really. I am just charging it up now to give it a bit of a duration test and will come back with the findings.
  19. This is the type of cross I will be after when I start lookin. mainly whippet bit of terrior. should make tidy pups. you keepin any back?
