FOMO driving it. Seeing a lot of the mass hysteria we seen with Diana, albeit her death at a young age shocked people more. How the fcuk can someone travel from another country that doesn’t even have a monarchy, and wind up blubbing on live TV about someone they didn’t know, and who never even knew they existed? Talk about ‘sheeple’. Seen the BBC described yesterday as ‘MournHub’. That’s about right IMO.

Fast passes for MP’s and their families. There’s them, and then there’s us.

I only recently learned the origin of the word nonce. Always thought it was a derivative of ponce, or something else. Never knew it was from an acronym used in prison. Fits the bill well though.

Saw an interview with a woman in Edinburgh earlier, who had a load of the wristbands on you’re given when viewing the coffin in St Giles, saying she’d ‘been round’ 7 times…, as though she’d been on a ride at Alton Towers. Like it or not, a lot of people will turn out as much for the novelty as respect. It’s just the time we live in. At least they’ve banned any photography whilst she lies in state, otherwise the internet would be awash with grinning selfies with the coffin in the background.

Bang on. No sympathy at all for Andrew, but selfish to sully such an occasion for so many people.

VAR in the EPL came about because officials were effectively put on trial by TV after every televised game and again on MOTD. Pundits pouring over multiple camera angles, and toggling between frames showing a player had moved from fractionally on to offside, or vice versa over a few hundredths of a second, then digging out the linesman for not getting it right. Offside had become impossible to referee if you can’t accept less than 100% accuracy or what is humanly possible. Same with fouling.., a ref stood ten yards away can generally make a decent call on contact resulting in an infringem

Not 99.9% here. I think there would have been some vocal dissent at almost every game.., and that’s enough. I posted the shambles at Tynecastle on Thursday last week, a club widely accepted up here as being second only to the Rangers in their staunch support of the union. If they won’t observe it properly, then the games going ahead would have been an embarrassment. I don’t have ‘leave specs’. It’s possible to be patriotic without believing independence is the right road for Scotland. I’m definitely in the apathetic camp regards the monarchy though. Bit like all religion.., if other peopl

With all due respect Max, I think you’re letting the media and your own emotions cloud reality. Unionists will rinse and spin this situation for everything they can obviously. Tens of thousands is about right, but for the vast majority that weren’t rubber-necking and went about their lives yesterday as normal (as I witnessed with my own eyes) the queen dying means and changes nothing and they will remain indifferent at best to the monarchy. You’ve only got to look at most of the Scottish football forums to see the resentment at games called off and people being ‘forced to mourn’. Think many So

I said pretty much the same to my missus yesterday, that in her being driven the length of Scotland yesterday, it was a great advert for the ‘No’ to independence campaign.., and may well have been intended. It has certainly ‘involved’ the people in this country in the whole event of her death in a way that would never have happened if she’d died in the South of England. A second referendum for independence would likely be very close run again, and I agree that the events over the last few days would favour the campaign to remain in the union, and might even be enough to seal the win if the

Not at all surprised she chose to die in Scotland. The coverage of the trip down to Edinburgh today has certainly added to the whole spectacle of her death.

Widespread up here now. Certainly not critically endangered that’s for sure.

Apparently Fury has offered 60/40 split. I think AJ has it all to prove and Fury has the belt and so it’s a fair enough offer.
-
No offence meant, but I personally think Joshua should either fight Fury or retire. And if Fury doesn’t fight either Joshua or Usyk then he should stay retired. Usyk fight to all intents and purposes unifies the division, and AJ fight gives the fans the fight they all want. Anything less is a cop out.
-
Refer to my previous point. “Waste his time”…, who else would you want to see Fury fight next (other than Usyk)? I simply want to see Fury v Joshua to settle any debate once and for all. Sick to death of the Insta/Twitter gobshite nonsense, which it has to be said comes mainly from Fury. Talk of Joshua needing to beat Wilder to prove he’s worthy of a match up with Fury is just petty fan boy nonsense. Talking of which, Max will no doubt be along in a minute to tell us again what Fury could do to AJ.
-
Like most I always thought Wilder would come unstuck when he came up against a quality heavyweight.., which he did in Fury. Regardless of the belt he had, I don’t rate him higher than some names on AJ’s record. Just my opinion, and proves nothing regards Fury v Joshua.
-
‘Deserve’? Joshua well beaten twice by Usyk, but proved he was better than Ruiz in the rematch, but surely still in the handful of best HW’s in the world.., no? And other than Usyk, I wouldn’t pay to watch Fury fight anyone else…, would you? Take away all the fan boy stuff and ‘who’d beat who’ speculation, I believe Fury HAS to actually beat the best in the division to prove he’s the best. That’s now Usyk, but for a long time it was Joshua. Even with no belts on the line, the majority of UK boxing fans still want to see Fury and AJ matched to find out who actually wins. I think
-
If Joshua wants a world belt this is his only credible option. Think Fury will rip the piss regarding any purse split, but Joshua needs to take what’s offered if he wants his shot at Fury, and to give the British boxing public what they’ve been crying out for. I’ll look forward to AJ’s response. Hopefully he won’t duck the chance like Fury did a few years ago. I think both fighters owe the public this fight.

Take a fcukin hint ?

Fcking leech…, wins a million and it’s all, ‘aye we should defo get out for a beer pal’. ? Seriously though, that’s brilliant. Always makes me glad to hear of of people who deserve a bit luck, getting a decent lift on the lottery.

A lad at work is big into MTB, and said he’d met him a few times and he was a very decent guy and an awesome talent. Just read his partner (Katie Archibald the gold medalling track cyclist) was in bed with him and tried in vain to save him. Terrible loss. RIP Rab. https://twitter.com/_katiearchibald/status/1562312232381419520?s=21&t=ksLB2xSc0zKBkcqpiHEsxA

Guess the whole bit about back-stabbing is that it’s done behind your back so you don’t know. Had a few instances where I suspect I’ve been removed from a situation because of my mouth, but never able to prove anything. Things have changed a lot in the 30 odd years I’ve been working. I remember guys rolling about on the floor settling ‘disagreements’…., nowadays it’d be instant dismissal if you even threatened to give someone a slap unless they wound their neck in. Seen or heard of a few lads losing long service jobs with pensions etc. because some (usually young) cnut made a complaint th

If they’re working early/late and weekends then I’d say they’re worth it. I wouldn’t be working Friday and Saturday nights till midnight for less than that, would you? And if the station workers are on a lot less, taking the brunt of the public’s frustration at the rubbish overpriced service, and dealing with all the pissheads on a weekend, then I’d give them £40k too.

I don’t know the details of their reasons for striking, but I’d guess it’s a well below inflation pay offer, wrapped in changes in working conditions. Give with one hand, take with the other. I don’t buy the media propaganda that it’s greed, and I respect anyone with the balls to stand up for what they think they’re worth. Good luck to them I say.
