    Do you intend to shoot at nite , I presume so as your after fox if that’s the case are you going to get a add on nite vision , or us a lamp either way will determine what scope to go for IE = add on you need a low base mag scope , or if lamp well it don’t really matter Atb

    Went out Friday late afternoon to see if I could fined a roe got set up in the high seat at 6.30 and waited about 1/2 hour later this vixen showed in the cover crop at 220 yard , I was going to let it be , but the index finger got the better of me so I sent a 95g SST down , instant death , on retrieving the carcass it had be shot thro the head , I was aiming at the chest so I checked zero after and it was spot on , stupid boy I am I didn’t allow for wind Barren vixen

    No mate but looking at the spec and the write ups , and how much they cost +if it goes tits up getting it fixed could be a problem, I’m sure Ian will be a long and give you the sp on the differences and do you really need a range finder at nite , ive zeroed the xq50 at 125 And anything out to 250 is dead , don’t think you would be shooting further that that mate at nite the build quality of the pard is inferior to pulsar all day long if you want a nite out with me and have ago your more than welcome atb

    Watching the movement of a fox for a few minutes before taking the shot would tell you difference between the too , or should do anyway but I totally agree, if unsure keep your finger of the trigger just be 110% sure is the only way forward and I must say after using the xq38 to spot and the xq50 to shoot after a while I can tell the difference at range between a fox and a badger let’s say , never seen a dog mind but yes just make sure and if I’m not the safety catch stays on

    I’ve not tried or looked thro any of the others , but was well informed that the xq50 was the best of the bunch at that price but ad SL has said they ant cheap but brilliant

    Thermion xq50 sits on my 223 , and is fantastic, I use pip on x7 for the shot , and up to now I’ve not missed , the clarity of the picture is superb

    Yep I use vit 133 , 24g with the 55 v max , and it’s deadly accurate A 25g load would be a good starting point for the 40
