MJT I dont know about fac's but with SGC's the police can grant temporary certificates and the example that they give is for a widow(er) of a certificate holder so that they can retain the guns until they can dispose of them or gain a certificate themselves, the temporary certificate lasts for three months, there must be a similar procedure for FAC's And in the example above i think another relative or friend of a deceased or terminally ill person would be OK hope it works out, contact your FEO! SFWUSC yes in the uk, you need a certificate to possess shotguns (SHOTGUN CERTIFI

After weeks of intending to go ferreting , and childrens birthdays parties, family visits, and a new bathroom being fitted all getting in the way (as well as work), i finally managed it today , my friend who i have recently started off with his own two ferrets came up to help. With my pursenets, longnet and two of my ferrets, plus one of his ferrets and his spade we set off from my house at 0730hrs. We got to the farm at 8 and were soon on the field and set up, First 3 into the longnet that was surrounding the 1st warren, then pursenets on the next warren that accounted for 4 more. T

Perhaps my profession takes me into therealms of such families? Perhaps i am a social observer?? They were just my guesses/opinions! The facts seem pretty damning by themselves, especially the delay in getting help?? Anyway the above is just off topic ramblings, at the centre of it is the fact that they neglected their kids to go to the restraunt
-
Also they had the option of a babysitter from the tour company at £10 per hour!!! She is a GP , they earn £90,000 a year, he's a specialist (cardiologist) so add another £10,000 to his wifes salary, thats around £190,000 a year between them

point i was trying to make (this is all based on the assumption that the child was abducted and not infanticide by the parents) is that if they wanted to leave the kids and go out with their mates, and they put themselves and their social life infront of caring for the kids, then losing the little one will not have been that much of a loss to them Different people have different social values and there are lots of kids wandering round the streets because their parents are inept/uncaring/socially retarded etc....now the ones that get social services/police involvement are the kids belonging

LOSING YOUR CHILD IS THE WORST IMAGINABLE BY OUR STANDARDS, BUT THESE PEOPLE LEFT THERE KIDS TO GO OUT, THATS NOT MY STANDARDS, THEY ARE VERY VERY SELFISH AND SELF-CENTRED AT THE BEST, THEY INVITED THIS AND COULD HAVE PREVENTED IT HAPPENING (THATS ASSUMING THEY DIDN'T KILL HER THEMSELVES AS I AM BEING LED TO BELIEVE) they deserve punishment for neglect Again a world apart from a kid getting away from you and leaving them whilst you go out on the piss with your mates
-
There is a vast difference between the unthinkable happening in a busy area and becoming seperated from your child, and the wanton neglect of leaving 3 kids under 4 in bed in a flat every night of your holiday and going out for dinner with your mates until the early hours I think chris jones will agree with me we have all done the first (kid runs off in a supermarket or park, or you lose their hand in a department store) but thats normal life..... the second you must be a fecking idiot

JUST TO ADD The portugese police said that attempts had been made to clean the blood off the wall?? thats why they missed it initially? but as far as an evidential chain goes, there would be problems in the UK as the apartment was rented out to other holiday makers between the night in question and the second search with the UK dog??
-
No thats not neccessarily true, the dog they used was actually a BODY RECOVERY dog, the met police have a handful of such trained dogs that are trained to find bodies and body parts after major disasters, they are trained using dead pigs (the animal not dead police men) and parts of pigs (heads etc..) so the dog in question is used to finding dead parts , no one can tell what scent the dog found, but it indicated the part of the wall where the blood was, as thats what its trained to find, and spilt blood is essentially a dead part of a human, even if the human lives. They cant catergo

Not really a well considered answer... There is a difference between losing a kid in a busy shop/shopping centre or a naughty older kid (like my son aged 9) going somewhere he aint allowed to play...... It is a completely different matter leaving them alone in a flat whilst you eat a few hundred yards away???? The missing hour, the fact that it was family here in the uk that reported her missing, and the blood in the car she hired 25days after the lass went missing, if all these facts are corroborated and verified then you dont need to be Columbo or perry fecking Mason to work t

As i said on another forum most murders are commited by known individuals (i.e. known to the victim) and the majority of them are family (in one way or another) when kids get killed nearly 100% of the time (i forget the exact figure but its in thetop 90's percentage wise) its a parent/close family member! The blood in the car issue is pretty catergoric and damning

An atheist was taking a walk through the woods. "What majestic trees! What powerful rivers! What beautiful animals!" he said to himself. As he continued walking alongside the river he heard a rustling in the bushes. Turning to look, he saw a 7 foot grizzly charging towards him. He ran as fast as he could up the path. Looking over his shoulder he saw that the bear was closing in on him. His heart was pumping frantically and he tried to run even faster. He tripped and fell on the ground. He rolled over to pick himself up but saw the bear raising his paw to take a swipe at him.

i dont know why it has put smilies in the legal bit, i just cut and pasted that and they came up??????

I would probably report it BUT i dont think the DDA covers dogs attacking other animals only people! (see below legal bit) That said the police should be told, as you said yourself what if your little girls had been alone with the pup?? My 9 year old often walks my dogs alone (only in our street) but what if it happened to a kid by themselves ????? below is from the dangerous dogs act:- http://www.opsi.gov.uk/acts/acts1991/Ukpga_19910065_en_1.htm 3 Keeping dogs under proper control (1) If a dog is dangerously out of control in a public place— (a) the owner; and ( if d

Two Muslim mothers are sitting in the cafe chatting over a pint of goat's milk. The older of the moms pulls out her bag and starts flipping through pictures and reminiscing. This is my oldest son, Mohammed. He would be 24 now." The other mom replies, "I remember him as a baby." Mom says, "He's a martyr now." "Oh, so sad, my dear." Mom flips to another picture. "And this is my second son, Kalid. He would be 21." "Oh I remember him. He had such curly hair when he was born." Mom sighs, "He's a martyr, too." "Oh gracious me," says the second mother. "And t
