  2. Where did you get that collar from mate?
  3. There is more than one way to skin a cat...... Everyone will have their methods and there is mre than one right answer. We have established the dog isnt really underweight anyway but if a dog needs to gain weight feeding more is the answer, whether thats more carbs, protein or fat. The dog will take what it needs from the food and pass the rest as we do too. IMO it doesnt matter if you feed more kibble or add bread, meat and fat into the diet it will still take the nutrients it needs and pass the rest
  4. I have decoyed crows with an air rifle too and they keep coming back in. I even took a shot at one and missed by millimeters it took off did a quick lap and came in again. Ive had crows coming in to pigeon decoys aswell they are just a bit more weary
  5. I didnt even think of that, A quick google search found a local centre and a quick phone call just got me a volunteer gap on a trial kind of thing, He wants me to give him a call in the week and pop down to him. I didnt even know it existed. Thanks alot for the great advice
  6. Where does the coal go in that model? Tesco do a phone for £10 with £5 credit mate, Simple phone with bigish buttons aswell
  7. That is my main problem i had to get rid of my car, endless problems so decided to get shut but now i am on foot for a while That makes it harder to get a mentor then, doubt anybody will put themselves out to pick you up and drop you off after. so looks like your stuck with the books and dvd's, although if you get the right sources you will be fine. main thing is research a few methods pick one you like then stick to it, don't be combining bits and pieces, it will turn out wrong. And don't be afraid of starting a topic up with a question however simple it may seem, theres loads willing to
  8. I do believe she was a bit young but as you said she could be turned around and she seems as though she wants that. I believe with the proper help to get on her feet the baby would be better off with her
  9. Thats what I have been thinking about and I have plenty of rabbits about that dont present a good shot so thats what pointed me to harris hawk as I have read they are great for rabbits and may also catch the odd bird too which is perfect for me. I have alot of permissions already as me and a friend share our land and the owners are fine with that as we alternate etc and get the job done and they know we both respect the land. I know what you mean about the mentor though as I have considered taking people myself and then Ive thought no its not worth it as I already have problems with poachers o
  10. If you are going to move your gun then make sure you move pellets etc too. Personally I would leave it unloaded in a safe location and explain that you zero your rifle in the garden and practice on targets with a safe backstop, targets do not leave your boundary and then you are within your right to do so. I zero my rifle down my hallway in the flat
  11. Its stupid aswell I know someone that had the ESA assessment If you don't turn up you lose all benefits but if you do turn up you automatically lose points because you managed to get there safely
  12. Theres changes on the way, When Universal Credit is introduced in 2015, jobseekers will have to be looking for work for a minimum of 35hrs a week and be able to back up this with proof There will still be people that get around it though. Im not slating anyone thats disabled for one second but some of those can work, I used to work in a call centre and there was a blind man that worked there, He had an adapted keyboard and brought his guide dog in with him yet I know a lad that has muscle problems and claims DLA he could easily work but whats the point when he gets about £1500 a month to
  13. I agree with what alot of people are saying especially about the girl with 5 kids, She had an xbox and a ps3 and hands full of rings but couldn't buy food, they are obviously getting too much money however That girl Jamelia I really feel sorry for her. Maybe she shouldn't have had a kid so young but accidents do happen and I don't agree with abortions. Sounds like she has dealt with alot living on the streets etc and she was doing her best to turn her life around. She went mad at her partner for not sticking by their child and she was upset that she is being forced to live around drugs. At the
  14. That is my main problem i had to get rid of my car, endless problems so decided to get shut but now i am on foot for a while
  15. Some good points covered there thanks alot mate. Its been about two years since I have been out with a hawk so a mentor would be good to refresh my memory. The only person I know now that keeps BOP is a fella with an eagle owl but its just a pet its never been worked which I dont really agree with but each to their own
  16. I will have a look at that book. Thanks mate Thats one thing I wondered aswell about hoods as I have never seen my mates use them and I dont understand their use
  17. Its madness what can be found but its just knowing what to look for. I have no clue about paintings and antiques etc I would end up buying junk
  18. I have moved away from that area now so cant help on that aspect but dont rule permissions out so quick mate. Most of my permissions wont say a word if I dont turn up for 6 months as they know when I do I get the job done and I respect their land. Its not worth them looking for someone else that could turn up with mates and a few cans leaving gates open and shooting whatever they can, or cant. I dont often leave my land for more than a few weeks but my point is I could and the owners would still be happy because they now know me and trust me. If you do the same it wont matter that you are away
  19. Saw in the local paper this morning a man bought a watch for £25 from the car boot, Got it home and had it valued and it turned out to be the original breitling from an old 007 film. Sold it at auction for £60,000
  20. Im looking into getting a Harris Hawk, Im not rushing into it with my eyes closed either.I have been out a lot over the years with friends and their hawks but have lost touch with them now so I have picked up some tips etc from them and Im looking to get my bird in about 12 months so this is my time to do research etc. Im going to build my own mews but I was wondering what else I need to start buying to get up and running and any other tips people can offer? I understand It is a big commitment and will need to be flown very often. I have plenty of permissions and lots of quarry. I am a first t
  21. Thanks for that mate, I will have to get that ordered. Much appreciated
  22. Yer I love mine mate, Nice and smooth for a budget rifle and upto power, also a surprisingly flat trajectory for a .22. I have looked into the charlie trigger myself but cant find a UK stockist. If you play about with the adjuster screw you can get it a bit comfier but its the second stage is awful. I use RWS superdomes in mine, I have tried about 6 different pellets and find RWS to be the best all round. How about you?
  23. I doubt anyone will be quick to provide addresses for their permissions or their good spots
  24. I walk to all my permissions with my gun in a bag on my shoulder and never had a problem, Ive seen plenty of police and never looked twice. I also ring 101 before I go as some of my permissions are football grounds etc in the middle of a housing estate, 101 always ask for my car reg then when I say im walking they say ahh thats fine
