  1. we still need to know a budget for just the rifle
  2. more good advice from craig, I didnt even think to mention camo
  3. have you tried crossman hollowpoints? They are the same pellet but in a hollowpoint version, I use them in .22 and they are just as accurate but harder hitting
  4. PIL has put it well there. you need to get to know the rifle you choose and you need to get to know yoursel;f as a shooter. You need to give us a rough budget price and in the mean time while you are target shooting try and get yourself some permissions to shoot rabbits on when your confident in your ability
  5. phone 0844 844 2900, DDA watch. they specialise in dangerous dogs and banned breeds. KC papers mean nothing if they try to say its a pitbull type. Tell the lad no matter what the police say or do DO NOT SIGN A SINGLE THING!! Good luck
  6. Well I was going in just as a foot soldier with the hope of doing marksman training to become a sniper so I guess sniping rabbits is the next best thing. I have mates in Afghan now though and they tell me stories but it just makes me jealous. I want to be there. I just like the movie idea of a sniper and spotter lying in the middle of nowhere waiting for that target. I guess im happy doing sales and my hunting hobby
  7. Pete no offence was taken mate, I am in the middle im undecided. I have never seen a big cat here nor any evidence but I have a friend that claims he has while out hunting and I have seen a website about shropshire big cats. I believe or climate and habitats could support their liviong so I wouldnt rule it out. Huan thats an interesting point you make, Did you see countryfile a few weeks ago? Talking about reintroducing Lynx into the british countryside, If that went ahead maybe they could use that to disguise the fact they where already here and kept quiet?

  9. you have to be 4 years clear and pass a breathing test which i did and the attack was completely out the blue. ive never had one since. been nearly 8 years clear this time so i could re apply but ive got dogs and stuff now and live alone so it wouldn't work
  10. no mate i was pretty unfortunate i passed all the tests passed my medical with flying colours then had an asthma attack out the blue the next day and ended up in hospital. they just laughed me away
  11. 3 weeks later still no rifle? :s
  12. thats the problem i have i can only get either the target or the crosshair focused, the stoeger is AO the tasco isnt
  13. ive had it with 2 of 3 scopes, the first was the standard stoeger second is a tasco and the 3rd which was fine ive stupidly sold which was simmons all 3-9x40. I think i need to get myself another simmons and yes its a recoiling springer
  14. quite the opposite actually, when i had my eyetest for the marines i have 20/20 vision and my mate has tried my scope which is the same for him but we are both fine with his scope
  15. just wondering if anyone has ever had issues with crosshairs becoming blurry? Ive had it on two scopes now but they are etched crosshairs so im thinking focus but no matter how i adjust it it doesnt become clearer
  16. thanks for the replies, how long ago was that?
  17. I've sent my SGC application off on friday and I was just wondering if anyone has had any recent dealings with west mercia and knows a current wait time? Last I heard it was about 6 months?
  18. as already said the answer will never be agreed but you have two .177's so why not ad a .22 to the collection
  19. and what would the police do if that turned into a dog fight?
  20. why dont you try ordering a pellet sample pack off ebay a mix of say 20 of about 10 different pellets and give them a shot?
  21. ive just read bear grylls mud sweat and tears which was good but slow to start. Im now half way through alaska bound which seems good and was also free on kindle
  22. What a great idea. Not been on this site long but there's some truly nice people and it shows the passion for sport is still there, choosing to pass the sport to youngers and keep the sport alive rather than make a quick few quid, fair play to you all
