  1. TBH, I like them as they are, with the metal finish. Makes a pleasant change to see something different.......
  2. That's me all over ! Just twiddle the knobs until you can see clearly. If I'm honest, the technical stuff goes over my head.......when I started shooting, I asked an innocent question "When you turn the turrets, why does the impact move, yet the crosshairs are fixed ?" Unfortunately, I asked the wrong person...... 15 minutes later, my eyes started glazing over and I began to nod off.....someone rescued me and later said "He could have just told you there's another set of moveable lenses inside the tube !" I don't "do" technical ! You should make a note on your website. Don't bother askin

  4. I don't know where in Bedfordshire you are, mate, but have you (or anyone else nearby) considered coming to Milton Keynes ?We have a well established club totalling around 90 members, shooting an outdoor range, on a farm just north of the main town. Toilet facilities, small clubhouse and covered shooting point - rifles, pistols, all ages and abilities welcome. We have qualified instructors (not that I don't think you'd need them !), and various competitions through the year. The club is target only, but we have many shotgun holders and a few active hunters among our number. Membership is 50
  5. trouble is mate they don't eat the rag and there is no proof that rags have a direct negative effect on the countryside, so it's quite hard to justify the wholesale slaughter of rags to the general public, maybe we should start a group to ban mountain climbing see how he likes it, after all a rag has as much feeling as a mountain Top drawer satire, Greyman !
  6. You came simply mark out your zero distance and stick a twig in the ground, or pile a bit of soil or grass up..... Or you can use mil dots, on a fixed magnification level - "bracketing" - I only ever use 8x mag. At my zero distance an adult rabbits head measures 2 1/2 dots from nose to back of the head......any more and its nearer, any less, it's further away. Still takes some practise, but doesn't require any additional equipment.
  7. A very enjoyable 26 minutes on a rainy afternoon. Lovely film !
  8. My little lurcher caught one, a while back, to the horror of a couple of dog walkers. I told him he was a good dog, and we took it home for his tea !

  10. Let's be honest - these are shining examples of why we love THL......all of human life is here !
  11. .....with his legendary harassment of the catapult section !
  12. what else did tb want.?nights lamping, lift plus a 3 course meal, chuck in a gob job too. Was he the Welsh fella ? Wearing a Spandex leotard in his avatar ? Yes mate I met him at the welsh game fair and he had a camo one on the nutter lol He very much have that impression ! A proper THL headcase.......
  13. I passed a homeless man today, and I felt sorry for him. I put my hand in my pocket, and I realised I only had a £20 note. I hesitated, as I thought "Do I really want this money wasted on drugs and cheap booze ?" I decided that I didn't........ ........so I gave it to the homeless guy !

  15. That was a classic.............memorable lines as I seem to remember were.... "Remember what happened in such & such pub? Wasn't very nice was it?" (Menacing suggestive overtones) & "Yeah come round for beer, but wear a smile, eh?" (My brother is a serious bloke too) . Can you put a link up for that pal I'd like a read of that. I can't mate, I did come across it again some time ago by accident, but can't remember what the original thread was about, but it spiralled rapidly! Haha.... I can't remember the title - it wasn't fair while ago ! It read like a bad Guy Ritchie script..
  16. http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/topic/282035-just-about-sums-up-this-country/The drama starts on page 4. There's been a couple of Walts on here that I remember, one of them still posts even after being called out. Don't they neems? Some of those names ! Whatever happened to Lara Croft and Outlaw Pete ? And the laughs that I'm sure many of us got from the much missed Attack Fell Terrier..... Yep some real THL legends in that thread Outlaw Pete.....he was a dyed in the wool nutter ! Used to crack me up !
  17. Our local gunsmith has an annual Open Day, and my club runs the air rifle range for them - new models, innovations etc. We had HW100, Ultra, R10 and so on, but i kept going back to the Phox - very tidy rifle ! You could do a lot worse ! (And I speak as the proud owner of AA S200 !)
  18. Does anyone get PM death threats anymore? Anymore ? I've never had any ! I feel left out now.....somebody send me one ?

  20. And Trooperman getting called out over his imaginary Falklands experience, and refusal to own up.......
  21. The best ones are the seemingly innocuous threads that result in death threats, after a couple of pages....... Krankie vs Gnasher was a classic of the genre !
  22. I think there's a good dose of truth in that ! A newbie came to my club this morning, and drew some sideways glands with an old iron sighted Hatsan his friend had given him. Expressions changed when he proceeded to knock down targets at 50 yards, shot after shot ! So, the best calibre or rifle is clearly the one that works for you !
  23. The only thing you can never have enough of, is time.
  24. A muslim who proposed Corbyn as party leader, let's not forget !
  25. That mad as feck Mackem Yup,they have sealed Burgoyne off but evacuated Cavendish so I guess he lives there, everyones standing at the end of the street, just popped round and seen a few people I know who have been turfed out of their houses.Media is parked all over the road,my mate Jason lives in Cavendish,i just phoned him he is in the pub What they reckon neo nazis with links to national front?
