Mate, you(and may others) don't seem to see that we have entered a world of information warfare. It IS everyone's duty to check facts and research, but so much of the information available is skewed, manipulated or out and out untrue, that making an informed decision is getting harder and harder !

But that's not what 'soshul meeja' data is collected for, is it ? It's used to target advertising and political campaigns - and there's growing evidence that it's being used to subvert democracy itself ! The application of filters and privacy settings means that most users inhabit their own little echo chamber - a bubble, from which all opposing views are excluded. In my view, that's how Facegram and Instabook have become havens for fake news - or, as I prefer to call it, lies !

Because I've done nothing wrong ! I'm not being paranoid, but I AM being spied on - we all are, to one degree or another. My concern is about WHY information is gathered and what it is used for.

Right...........let's put this to bed ! This story isn't quite what it seems......... When the government began the roll out of Universal Credit, they included an interim measure, removing the need for means testing , for free school meals. So, for the recent past, Universal Credit = free school meals........but this was only ever an interim measure. Means testing will soon be re-introduced,. BUT the new threshold level will be higher than pre-UC levels. So (stay with me), those children who currently receive free meals will continue to do so, and the higher threshold means that a fu

I had one a couple of years ago - loved it ! 2 litre diesel, 4WD,, good fuel economy, comfy, spacious, easy to drive. Difficult to criticise it, really. I'd have it back like a shot !

The letter was brought to media attention by Tell MAMA........an organisation that campaigns to counter "anti-muslim hate, islamophobia, bigotry and prejudice". It doesn't have any logos or such, to attach it to a particular group, and no organisation has claimed responsibility. If things like this didn't happen, groups like Tell MAMA would have nothing to campaign against, and would lose support and funding. Just saying like..........

I think some of you are being a bit unfair. Look at some of the great and good who have graced the Honours list over the years........ Sir Jimmy Savile, Lord Jeffrey Archer, Sir Anthony Blunt, Rolf Harris CBE, Stuart Half OBE, Sir Fred "the Shred" Goodwin, .............(err, think I need a change of tack here) ................,but it not just 'great' Britons that can be recognised. Honorary awards have also been given to such shining foreign luminaries as Robert Mugabe, Nicolai Caucescu and Bob Geldof ! Oh dear - I'll get my coat.
