  1. I've got them as the practical part of the test !
  2. If there was, I'm pretty sure I'd get an A* ! Any movement that begins to rally mass support will immediately be dubbed "far right" or "extremist"..........if they fail, there's always "neo Nazi" to fall back on !
  3. Guy on LBC, some SA correspondent or other - says a "great loss to the cause of freedom, and every South African will miss her". (Maybe not EVERY one, eh ?) Apparently, she "devoted her life to the cause of the ANC and to South African freedom". (And look how well THAT turned out !) As corrupt and untrustworthy as they come, in my opinion - her bank balance might make interesting reading, though ?
  4. Maggie Burke, as she is now, was co-leader of the November 9th Society (Hitler's birthday, I'm guessing ??),, a group that painted swastikas in public places, and handed out racist and antisemitic literature. She was also involved with the Animal Liberation Front (convicted of damaging a butcher's shop), and with Hunt Saboteurs......... She obviously happy in company of other loons !
  5. That is such an obvious April Fool joke ! Because if it's not, then the government is sneaking unpleasant decisions through all at once,, on a Sunday, in the middle of a Bank Holiday weekend, while no-one is loo..........oh dear !
  6. V for Vendetta and Enemy of the State got me concerned - Person of Interest frightened me to death !
  7. I only joke about the things I take seriously !
  8. JUST TEMPORARILY........I'm going to look up - in case the Chinese space station lands on me. I'll bet it's got surveillance cameras on it !
  9. I used my own counter-surveillance measures today. I don't know what all the fuss was about - I was only trying to cash my Giro !
  10. I asked, and he meant "everyone, all the time". The only thing that stops it is that it isn't possible to constantly monitor the unimaginable amounts of traffic. But his premise was that this is due to the amount t of staff available, not the technical capability !
  11. I don't know about 'over there', but in the UK, the government is guilty so many times of bringing in new laws, where laws already exist that adequately cover the situation.............
  12. I can see this forum getting REALLY boring , when we have to resort to posting letter to each other............
  13. And, (I'd forgotten )that, while I'm in the nick, they'll take a DNA sample.............to be held for I don't know how long, and used for purposes I'm not allowed to know. And even if I'm exonerated that sample will still be held on record. And I'm not paranoid ! You can bring in any new criminal law you like - criminals won't respect it, be affected by it, or have any care for it ! It's the quiet, law abiding majority that suffer from it, though ! People shouldn't be afraid of their governments, governments should be afraid to their people !
  14. OK. Try this one........ I'm out rabbiting with the dog. The next day, I've got the same coat on, and I'm stopped for jumping a red light. I'm searched and they find the knife, that I've forgotten to take out of my pocket. Offensive weapon ! At the police station, this law gives them the right to access all the data information on my phone..........ALL OF IT ! Locations, times, call logs, messages, everything ! None of it anything to do with simply forgetting to take an Opinel out of my pocket. Search history could be misconstrued - I've visited BBC news reporting about stabbing
  15. They won't be 'snooping - they leave that to the Home Office' ! Once you're in the nick, even for the silliest of reasons - or maybe a random stop and search - it's open season, and no warrant needed ! I think you're missing the point that this about your basic right to privacy. If I've done nothing wrong, why spy on me ?
  16. I used to shoot with a chap who worked at Hanslope Park - an offshoot of GCHQ. It's top secret...........(a few miles out of Milton Keynes, just before you get to Tatshall End.) His answer to every question was "I can't confirm or deny", or just to say "I can't discuss that." He did, however, tell me (in reply to a generalized question) that there is no program of universal surveillance, but there IS the technical capability to do it...............they just don't have enough staff !
  17. From one Sherwood Forester to another, welcome. Hope you enjoy your time here, me duck !
  18. A fire set by Mumsnet. MUMSnet !...................MUMSnet ! You'd have thought that, of all groups, THEY might be a bit more partisan !
  19. But if you know you might be under surveillance, you can take countermeasures ! (Like not looking up !)
  20. Not really - there's always the Law of Unintended Consequences ! A bit further down the line, a situation arises where 'they' realise..........."Oh, we could use that law we brought in ! You know, the one that was meant to keep the popular safer !"
  21. If I'm expected to respect the law (which I do !), then the law should respect me !
  22. I refer the honourable gentleman to the answer I gave some moments ago.......
  23. Sadly, were already a fair way down that particular incline, mate !
  24. Also, once you have had your data accessed, what happens to the information and what might it be used for ? If I were arrested for a very minor offence, and my phone checked, what would happen if my search history shows that I'd visited "Stormfront", "Infowars" for instance ? (Bearing in mind that a man was recently convicted, for teaching his dog to raise it's paw............? )
