    A fitting send -off - very stirring stuff. I played against a couple of Kiwi teams, and one of Samoans and Fijians, who do their own version. However 'up for it' you are, it's very intimidating when they get close-up and in your face, but you are supposed to stand and accept their challenge............................some almost failed !

    I'll tell you what really winds me up - when they say 'we're just not getting through to voters' , as if it's us that are thick and don't understand !! The push now seems to be 'how to respond to the rise of UKIP' - which I take to mean dreaming up new con tricks to help them keep their jobs !

    All I can find for UK is that hand-lines are illegal in trout waters, but that's it.

    Mono ? Get with the times, Daddi -o ! Fluorocarbon these days ! I still don't see that I'm 'fishing' - I'm making no effort to catch a fish. If I am, are the rules that same as trapping if you 'fish' for crayfish ?

    I was thinking about this for a while yesterday. I'm sitting on the bank, and I tie the fat off my ham sandwich onto a bit of string. I dangle it in the water and pull out 3 or 4 crayfish. Am I breaking any laws/rules, because..... 1 - I'm not fishing. My intended quarry is not a fish, so I can't see that I need day tickets etc and I certainly don't need a rod license, as I'm not using one. 2 - I'm not trapping (or am I ?), so I don't need DEFRA tags (?) - no mechanical trap is being used, after all.     I am Mr 'That'll come in handy' ! Better to re-use, re-purpose and up-cycle (hate those words !), than to send it miles in a lorry ! Better still, try not to use it in the first place - my Mum leaves all the fruit and veg packaging at the checkout ! Just a few of my efforts.................     I recently suggested a 'fishing equipment' classified section, and it was accepted. All the other sections seem to have their own dedicated classified listings, so why not us............? Might help take some of the tension out of the current situation on here ?ha FairPlay mate, I was only just looking through the fishing section!! Looking for a bivvi for my bro. Sold it just this week, mate - shame !

    This is really sad - Longers, YCH , let me be short and to the point - don't go, lads ! The best reasons have already been given, but Bosun made a good point about how this is OUR section, and the future of it is in our hands.............................all we have to do is stay within the letter of the law (if you know what I mean !)
