  1. There's a cracking b&b near Lewes ,about ten minutes from Brighton called Bryn clai ( Weird name I know ) excellent , spotless loads parking nice people ..

  3. Had another go at them today with a pal of mine , picked up 67 with another 8 or 9 way out in the rape field ..

    Buzzards

    I hate them crows as well ! Shot these ones this morning ..and watched a single crow chase of a pair of buzzards it just wouldn't let them be till they moved on . Picked up 67 ,
  5. Nice going mate , the only pigeons I've seen are on the bird feeder in the garden and I'm frightened to shoot them incase they are the only two left in southern England ?
  6. Sometimes U it just doesn't go to plan ...I had a day on the corvids today and shot some cracking birds , but missed half a dozen that were so close it was ridiculous..but there be there for another day .
  7. Whacked a few more today at the duck farm , picked up about twenty three but had quite a few more that fell in the ponds and a huge bank of nettles ..

  10. I managed 21 last weekend over the duck rearing ponds , now the ducklings are out the corvids are back .They will build up to become a serious pest unless we get into them from the off . The maize should be going in soon and they will get on that as it starts to germinate pulling it up as soon as it shows .

  14. He grows sweet corn Jok just on a bigger scale .....and if need be I'll nick some of him glue it to my stalks and pretend it's mine ..ps your mate really does know his onions ..pps .. I followed the planting advice on the seed packet , it's worked most years but I've got my pals as a back up ... how's the weather up the top end have you had enough h2o yet ..

  17. Oh no ....wait till I tell my old farmer mate he'll be gutted , he's just planted a 20acre square field ...I can see us out there tonight digging it up ...? Mind you there could be a difference in your colder climate where they need to huddle together to keep warm , down here we need to get some air round em to cool em Otherwise you end up picking them ready cooked ..Your mate clearly knows his onions ?...but sweet corn ?.. I'll keep you updated ..

  19. Planted out the spare runner , belloto and French beans and corgette after loosing them to the frost ,planted out the sweet corn as well ...

  21. Can't think a crow / magpie would leave them ..maybe got a bit crowded as they grow and two got pushed or worked there way out ..
