  1. Lovely, not seen a sand lizard in years but as a kid we knew loads of specks to find em in the dunes and to our shame used to try and catch them too. I hope they are still there, in a world thats changed so much since the 70's, kids dont know what to look for anymore... ?
  2. I'd agree Yokel, from what i read, for many years now Colby blood is viewed by many like the holy grail of bulldog blood and its bred for purity not ability.
  3. These days i would believe that it was NOT the Scotsmans dog that bred Pye but he was out of Reid stuff. Wigan was a hotbed for bulldogs back in the 80's. Though for many years it was said that it was Scotsmans Max, as the Scotsman kept both lurchers and terriers along with his bulldog Max. Which is all documented on the Gamedog forums. Also Pye's first owner & breeder knew a couple of lads up north and Pye spent a bit of time in those kennels. It all added to the story.
  4. Know how you feel DS, we are in the same boat with a Florida holiday for the end of July. We've paid it in full but don't fancy the first week in the parks with masks and distancing, they are bad enough without! So what to do, wait and hope it's cancelled for a refund, or take a voucher, which we are waiting to see if we would have to use it this year or next. If we go for the voucher, the company will only let us use it on long haul. Gutted, as for that money we would have got a nice villa on the Med.
  5. Yep, i've always used the analogy that all deer are instinctivley and genetically born to use thick woodland as a means to escape pursuit. Our running dogs don't have the same genetics for pursuit in there and unless your dog understands woodand from an early age, it is likely to come a cropper at some point.
  6. Yes mate, he does... He used to post on here a few years back, MR1 ?
  7. Even though the're white Lakies ?
  8. Thanks Balaur, loads of bindweed, as pre lockdown it was the bramble patch behind my fence. Its a constant battle dealing with it. Same with the reeds. Love the idea of kids naming indvidual fruit and veg ? Everything was gained during lockdown, bought or swapped. My cabbage seed came from a mate but he got them mixed with beetroot seed and the first half of my row is a mix of both (till i realised!) The whole thing is just a rush job, started the first week i was at home. Smashed up the sleeper table i made years ago to edge it, as thats all i could find. There are some photos
  9. Managed to squeeze in a couple of pumpkins and butternut squash
  10. My 20 quid 'greenhouse' from Home an Bargain (you all know it as Home Bargains) Like i said, my 'exotic' chilli's bombed but plenty of other stuff in there i'm happy with.
  11. Cheers GL, yours look great. I'm fecking gutted about mine... ?
  12. Broad beans are doing well, on what once was the old fence. Did have a line of peas just after them to grow with but the pheasants seen all but two off.
  13. Don't look to me Mort, i've had to find homes for all my others.. ?
  14. Just ran out and snapped my veg... Spuds are flying now, dispite frost damage a couple of weeks back.
  15. ?? Usually it would be Mort BUT honestly, it's much better than any of his others..!
  16. Absolutley feck all wrong with putting a working terrier into a working terrier show. Shows may not be every terriermans cup of tee but ALL that i know of that keep a line are proud of their dogs look and form. As i said, as long as terriers are first and formost bred to graft, nowt wrong with summer showing....
  17. Some fantastic stuff going on here. Will get some pics up of my gurilla garden, its flying! Question for those that know. I love my chilli's and earlier this year splashed out on some seeds of chocolate habanero's, scotch bonnet, ghost and standard birds eye. During lockdown i could only get my hands on MiracleGrow compost bags and the fecking lot have failed... ? So, could i get some more seeds and get results this season, given that its around six weeks germination..??
