  1. Nice find... Though it does look like those chocolate ones you hang on Christmas tree's!
  2. The first pic looks like an old line bred collieX I once seen, think it was a David James dog. As for the other... Its just been bred purely for looks, these are just some whimsicle (spelling!) fad for mini Borzoi's and such like....... Work....? Form, should follow function....
  3. Once upon a time..... when the tip was there, it was rat Mecca, drew folks in from all over the country. You'd have more success around the shrubberys of your local McDonalds now....
  4. Well put Simo.... Nice one Ian
  5. Good stuff Bird Some dogs just plain don't take to retrieving but as long as they catch and don't feck off down the field with 'em... good sport can always be had.

    FLOYD BOUDREAUX

Can't better that Stabs but i'll deffo second it!
  7. My old bitch back.... She's in my avator pic, though, my new 'charge' is shaping up well...... Failing that, one of Joe Ox's pups.... Anyone in the market for an all round, knock about, numbers dog.... Look no further!!
  8. Whilst all above can work, just try the most simple thing.... Hold your dog by the collar whilst pointing the beam, both on moving targets and squatters, direct its head toward what you want it to see. You will only need to do this for the first few, after that it'll know where to look. Good hunting
  9. Great stuff Undisputed, always nice when someone says they have a 'problem', opportunity like that doesn't come round that often, you certainly done well
  10. Now these should make very handy dogs !! (Wish I was in the market for one myself) Best of luck with 'em Joe
  11. A good few years back a local lad had a cracker, made a fair name for itself around Liverpool, both day and night this first cross was both very inteligent and game as feck. Ted Walsh mentions them in his L&LD's, they've been around for a while and I'm sure back before the boom they must have earned their keep as back then people didn't carry passengers. What made them go out of favour, maybe the 'climate' back then as both commercial bred collie crosses and bull crosses made an impact. Maybe it was simply that all those early references always pointed to the 'high litter wasage'
  12. Nowt wrong with a girl having a bit of exaust..... As long as theirs plenty of it, it's those types that say they never fart that do the damage, because when they do.... That smell will feckin kill ya  !!! Also, if you have a lady that crack's 'em off like a bloke, she can't say feck all when we do it....! (Unless we give 'em that good 'ol Dutch oven treatment )
  13. Bang a greyhound over it and advertise the pups as some new fangled super aquatic lurchers, as well as HJCKC they can sideline to rescue fishermen Some on here would!!! Seriously Jigsaw, fair play to you, helping when a dog needs help, commendable
  14. Congratulations...... Best wishes to you all
  15. Well done Tomo, a good report on a cracking night
  16. Very sad to read that.... It's so tough to lose a dog making a promising start.... Best thing is to 'dust yourself off' and plan for the future, best of luck....
  17. A good honest post Lucky and right on the money Pics of this, pics of that, its seems incessant! I wish people would take the time to search old threds.
  18. I remember that little American bitch, very impressive, she had half the field (spectators) wondering if she wasn't a lurcher! Some of the most interesting action in the Cup since a local rougue slipped his lurcher 20 years since!!
  19. A long time before Plummer (or anyone else!) started writing books on the 'virtues' of all an sundry crosses, there where Lurchers kept of unknown ancestry and breeding..... Worker to worker, with no definate 'type'..... maybe so but collie and grey have always featured whether it be the old smithfield collie or the present border/beardie x....Poachers of old knew the virtues of such a x....and didn't kill for killings sake. I don't doubt that, Undisputed, collie has always had a part to play (and usually a big part at that!) but for me, traditionalist or not, and being old
  20. Looks like a very productive day So glad we are finally geting an honest report on a Burrell bred lurcher, and good to hear she's settlin down, I'm sure you'll get the best from her. Please keep us posted. Fair play to you Warren

  22. After reading that, I'm wondering too!!!
  23. Is that 'ol D.B. himself...? Life DID get tough 'up north'!! Are you 'sporting' that mullet?
