  1. Kept an ran all on your list over the years, ain't got a problem with any, it's horses for courses, as they say. The best i've seen and owned, my preferance.... line bred, lurcher X lurcher
  2. Again as above, 2 would be my limit. I do think that you can easily get the best and the most out of both animals. For me, the work I give my dogs, any lurcher of any type, should be treated as a jack of all trades but it's also a preferance to keep two differing types of lurcher.... it just makes life more interesting! Though, each should be of different age, a few years apart, allowing for training whilst still having a 'made' dog to run, also, this makes for an easier time when dogs start ageing, again having one dog to run. Just my thoughts
  3. Bout the same as i always have Asme And.... I recon we should get out this week.... Been a while??
  4. That's a cross an a half! Tidy looker too. I'm sure whoever takes on that dog will be well rewarded, providing they have enough experience to handle him. Best of luck with the sale
  5. Yep, just about sums it all up for me...... The BMP is 'supposed' to be a political party, if so it's members should be 'proud' to stand up and be counted, insted most seem to be Taking it rather badly.....!
  6. Yep, that just about sums it all up for me.....
  7. I was at the first 'gathering' (hardly a march) at Grassmere in the Lakes, can't remember the year. .... Then the Hyde Park rally, .... After that 1st March '98, ..... 22nd Sept '02 ...... Chester racecourse (can't remember the year....'03?) ...... Brighton, was that '03? My memory is obscured by spending the rest of the day in the pub with some rather nice young hunting girls dressed as bunnys ( the Heffner type, anyone remember, they did make the national press?), very Port Out, Starboard Home, but great fun . Only blot on my copybook was Scotland....Bugger!!
  8. I'm thinkin this is what Brimmer means and rightly so.... Fair play to you for wanting to get out Chrissi but mind who you go out with!! Living in Southport you won't be hard pushed to find some crackin local specks
  9. Wishing you a speedy recovery Martin
  10. Foxes are something that has never been high on my hit list Scouser to be honest,my old dog Jack could polish a fox as good as any,he would have them breathless in seconds but intruth he never took that many, they are worthless in my eyes, but fair play to the lads/lasses that get out and do them, all respect to them.My mate had a Minshaw bred dog called Rambo and it was an absolute destroyer of them, another friend had one called Nigger and it too could and did take them regularly, plenty were capable of doing the task it just hasn't ever been a "must" for my dogs to take them.Jack's sire Bulpa to

(Just magnificent, draws me right in) The Searchers ( The utimate western) Hud (Paul Newman at his best) It's a Wonderful Life (a Christmas must) Holy Grail (even Life of Brian couldn't top it) Scent Of a Woman (HuAh, son he's an asshole!! (Pachino at his best) Pulp Fiction (this and Resevior dogs changed the way films were made) A league of their Own (corny but the only film to get me a lump in the throat) Brotherhood of the Wolf (Fantasy made dark) And of late... No Country for Old Men
  12. I take your point Pitindall though on a daytime mooch, usually the first thing spotted is the moocher, unless your dressed like Cammoman in some realtree gimp suit and in heavy cover, us uprights are usualy stood where we ain't best placed to blend in and stand out like sore thumbs! As for the dog, of any colour, that puts up game, it's gonna run it, where and how far you just don't know and on the move in open countryside or in winter cover they will get notice too. I would have no problem choosing a white pup in a litter for any type of work, personal choice but I like white dogs,
  13. I know some of the people named on that anti site! There is people named on there who were not even found guilty ffs Exactly the same with me Joe, seen that page a few years ago and spoke to those I know about it. Very wrong what has been put on there but thats what we are up against!!
  14. I like that pup , looks a real lump, big boned with plenty of knuckle, will make a big dog. DM you should put a little more up about its breeding, always helps. Best of luck with the sale

Lads, keep it real, all these 'fired up' women are bound to please, let 'em run with it.... I'm sure the end product will be a treat!!! Lab'sN'.... If theirs a drop out, my Mrs said she'd be up for it, (sneak preview on my profile, :secret: an much better from the front!! Now... back to what i'm used to on this forum......
  17. Good write up Tomo. Recon this heat was made more interesting due to the conditions and nice hauls too. Well done Scouser BUT most of all, a huge well done to both lads who competed in a very sporting manor.
  18. Type of place i'd have always tried as a kid.... Thats no disrespect Tomo, what I mean is, as a youngster I/we done well from those type's of places, old wood yards, deralict rail cuttings, gardens... Loads of good action, fair hauls and fun.... places that always held, and now as we have grown older, for some reason, I/we tend to leave them, as if the 'grass is some how greener' in open countryside. Find your game wherever it may be..... The mark of a true moocher. Well done
  19. Barbados - Typicaly Tropical Seven Tears - The Goombay Dance Band. Seasons in the Sun - Terry Jacks
  20. In the order I read 'em through the years..... (I think!) Lurchers & longdogs - Walsh Rebecca The Lurcher - Simpson Rogues & Running Dogs - Plummer It's My Delight - V. Fitzgerald Nathan - Plummer Fell Terrier - Plummer Off the Beaten Track - Plummer World of The Working Terrier - Harcombe A Mouchers Tale - Lloyd A Bird In The Hand - Doherty ..... So far....
  21. Well put Simo.... Nice one Ian I hear from A you had a good night on the shine last night Bosun Moonshine! Pair of us pissed as farts sitting in my Land Rover at the end of the street .......... To Mr Ian, Thanks, just thanks.
  22. Read breed standards and write-ups for most pedigree dogs and they'll tell you the same shite. Why take the gamble when you could have a cold-blood worker to worker whippet, bred in the pink over generations.... and if you fancied a long coat, bang a 'working' Bedlington/Collie/Saluki/Deerhound over it!!
