  3. Good haul on a bad night Tomo, well done. Recon you'll be making a few trips back eh.
  4. This is going to sound a little bit nuts but.... Rats! Hunted the little buggers for years man & boy, they really don't bother me to hunt 'em, in fact I love it, hunted the black rats too on the docks.... BUT, a rat unawares, in an unlikely place makes me 'jump out of my skin'. the worst was when I had to use a ramshackel bog in Malasia, tiny little box, board with hole, dropping to a cess pit, stank like ya wouldn't belive, sat there in a bad way after some dodgy local grub (which incidentally was very spicy) and so not having the best time of it, or making it smell any better! All of
  5. Same as me Poach, never met him but know a few who did, no one said a bad word about him and his dogs worked well enough.
  6. In my eyes there should be nowt wrong with showing your dogs. IF shows are staged for the right reasons, to help fund working dog clubs (rescues etc) and so folk can get out and meet and greet friends, old and new, during the long summer months AND lets not forget we all love to look at our working dogs (though it does make me laugh when some try to deny this!!) and some are run as charity events. As for judging, yes it always should be the four legged things in the ring that are judged on. I'll hold my hand up, i've taken many a dog 'in' for other folk, usually my mates, who'll stand
  7. Good pics of good bags Blitz, thanks for sharing
  8. 86 with two dogs and two 30's with one dog, two nights running.
  9. Good stuff Rolf... Well done for sticking with her.
  10. Thats a very bonny young bitch, should make someone very happy. I fancied one out of this litter but wasn't in the market at the time.
  11. Aye Bosun and he didn't look like he had pace or stamina
  12. Got a text this morning off ASME IX... 'He's here, dark hair, blue eyes, big balls lol 7lbs 6'.... Congratulations Jay & Zoe on the birth of your son....!
  13. Poach & Stabba too!! Ha, ha.. I nearly phoned you up the other day mate, was going to try and get down to the reds match on Thursday but it fell through Anytime mate , when you are, give us a bell, you could stop over next time, bring your boots and we'll go for a wander!
  14. A mate used to have a F1 Beddy Grey years back that took this to the extreme, built like a fecking 'dragster', this dog was an excellent catch dog. This lad was a profit hunter, this dog made him a pretty penny up Scotland. It had only one vice, would drop to ground in a flash and was dug out of the 'bigger' places many times. What I would say is that IMO, i've noticed dogs that, when standing (normally/relaxed), dogs that have their back legs well under 'em (giving the impression of lower withers), for the most part, have been good animals and thinking back, have had good agility but i'd
  15. So do I, last time at the Rother Valley show! Seriously, think he would be one of a few on here who would know more about these dogs, hence his name.
  16. i believe this was one of the first COMPLETE dog foods on the market, i fed it to my first terrier back in 1979, problem i had was a lot of it passes right through the dog and keeping racing pigeons on a strict diet they used to pick through the dog droppings for bits of flaked maize or what ever ......... but waste not want not, why don't you just mix a little in with your dogs food each day it certianly won't do them any harm. all the best IAMLA12.
  17. What you are experiencing Jord is an appathy on this site to anyone who breeds for breeding sake, this is a working dog site!! People predominantly breed to better thier chances of producing a worker, as it should be, 'form should follow function', colours etc should make no difference. I'm sure there are plenty of people on here who's dogs would be your ideal, beautiful lurcher stud but the chances of using it would be nil (I hope) unless you work yours and hope to breed with work in mind! Then again, with the number of members on here, maybe some helmet will allow you service!!!
  18. Ain't seen one of those for years, had one, used it for nets an stuff when I was a kid.
  19. Good post Artic Back around '90 my best mate bought a pup, from a well known line of match dogs, with a view to running it himself on the big lands. Nowt to look at, the dog leveled at just over 23", i wasn't impressed, at all... Till it ran!!! Boy could it kill hares, anywhere big or small fields the dog just instinctivley knew how to run each hare, we ran it from the Lakes to Altcar estate and everywhere inbetween, it was a joy to behold, could sit behind a hare all day if need be but would pressure enough to keep 'em in the same field ( a quaility i'd need in any dog!) and had a fanta
