I remember singing that as a kid in the playground. We used to sing "his other is in the free trade hall". I can still recite "The British Grenadiers", "Men of Harlech" and "The charge of the Light Brigade". All learned at school. We were well fired up as kids to fight another war. Thank f**k my generation hasn't had to.

I went to school with a lot kids whose fathers were Ukranian POWs. I'm still in touch with a some of them and they are all intending to go back and fight. These guys are in their 70s! I've told them straight they would be liabilities. If they are anything like me they will have Godfrey's peeing problem. Not great to be peeing non stop on the battlefield. Personally I dont get all this fatherland stuff. I don't feel any particular national identity. I think it's all a bit anal tbh. Sorry if that offends a lot of you lads but patriotism means very little to me. I'll get my coat.

Had a little whippet 17 inches at the shoulder which killed 13 adult rabbits daytime in about an hour. Does that count?? She killed a few young uns too but I'm not counting those. To be fair it was on heather which favoured the dog, but it was a great hours sport.

Tried to watch RTE news hoping to listen to the Russian view on things. Damn me its been taken down. I know I'm naive, but I thought censorship like this only happened in Russia, China or North Korea?

I can just remember rabbit numbers before mixi first struck. My old man was a top snarer and would return every morning with a minimum 50 rabbits. That was right throughout the season. Fields were bare and brown with rabbit infestation. You could smell them in the air. We were all sick of the taste, even the dogs turned their noses up at yet more rabbit for dinner.The old fella ended up gifting rabbits to anybody who asked. Its a pity this type is now seldom seen.Best dog I ever had was bred this way. Honest worker and a fabulous temperament. A great companion/working dog. Its a shame there are so many bull crosses and saluki crosses now. They seem to have replaced the deer/grey/collie grey types. I know plenty will say, there's an obvious reason for that. I would have to agree the specialist crosses do what they do better than the all rounder d/g/c/g types.But nevertheless, for me, if I had to choose, a honest deer/grey/collie grey would be my choice every day of the week.

Seems hypocritical to me that suddenly the ruskies are public enemy no 1. We turned a blind eye when Russian money was laundered in the UK. Much of the most salubrious properties and businesses in London are now in Russsian hands. The establishment welcomed the russians to the pig trough with a snort and a wink. Particularly the tories.
