I agree with most of what you say. Eddie Howe is the best England manager since Clough,I'm pleased to see him doing so well with a club which has a bit of money to splash about. He deserves it. As for the Saudi ownership,no, not for me. My club Man U is up for sale and one of the favourites to buy is a Quatari sheikh. Everybody knows giving jets would be a step too far. Sunak should be ashamed of himself( some hope) pretending that he is considering it. For a start the US wouldn't allow it. Let's not pretend we are a sovereign nation which makes its own decisions. The US is the big boss man. What it says goes.

Ive always kept my weight to within a few pounds of what I was when I was twenty one. Whenever I feel porky I fast for a few weeks until I reach my target weight. Carrying too much weight eventually fecks your knees and your heart. As other lads have said it's all about controlling what goes in your mouth. Ever tried the 5/2 regime? 5 days eating a reasonable amount and 2 days eating next to nothing. Works well. Treat it like a fight, be determined hunger pangs are not going to make a fat slob out of you. Go for a walk or a run instead of eating.

I don't think a statue was ever put up for him. He deserves one. A lot of champion boxers came out of his gym. He also deserves a statue for telling Eubank senior to "f**k out of my gym". Eubank had come to Moss Side thinking he could solve the problems of the area. It didn't go down well. I was told Eubank did immediately as he was told and f****d off sharpish.

Martins gym was a tough, tough place. I remember it had a massive mural outside of Ali Martin is supposed to have fought for the British title when he had cancer but kept it quiet. He died very young. He was a leftie, hated Thatcher and was a speaker about politics. He trained a number of black champions who themselves went on to train others. Frank Grant was one of them.

Yes mate. He was trained by Phil Martin in Moss Side. Moss Side was a no go area for strangers, even sixty years ago, especially whites. My grandad was one of the few white people left in Moss Side where knife crime was very common even back then. I used to visit him occasionally when I was a kid. I don't know so much mate. The law is the law. If he'd been found guilty then he's a piece of shit who deserved to dine on porridge for a few years. He has a clean record, there's no evidence against him, so what right have Man U to judge him? You can't condemn people on the basis of withdrawn evidence and new evidence which puts a different complexion on things. No matter whether you play for Man U, Liverpool or Leeds.
