Ever since he got tagged by Ruiz, AJ looks scared to death in the ring. He'll be hyperventilating if he fights Wilder.

He was with me in Herbie mate.

I am in Buxton for a short holiday and met some drop out travellers yesterday. They live in old buses and horse boxes etc. They seemed sound enough people. How they bought their food and fuel I have no idea, but it seemed a better way of life than chasing your tail paying bills for shiny cars and legoland houses. They had loads of dogs, which I guess were deterrents against attack. Good luck to them.

What's the future of heavyweight boxing? Bleak I reckon. Whyte fails a drug test for a fight which was meaningless anyway. Whyte's punch resistance has gone completely. Fury is fighting an exhibition against a man who is not allowed to use any of his UFC skills. And let's face it, it will be another groundhog day...Fury using his opponent as a punchbag,Chishora style. No doubt Furys fans will lap it up....numbnuts It's a tragic joke. Boxing as a whole has to have a competitive heavyweight division to maintain interest in the smaller guys. So Joshua is now fighting Helenius

He is obviously after an award....puke. But I admire his single mindedness. He got dogs' abuse after he was sent off when playing for England but he ignored it, and, as others have said, he turned himself into an international,brand..Fair play.

Good fun riots. I remember them fondly when I was a teenager and young man. I would be a regular attender if I lived in France. Kicking over the traces and feeling the adrenalin rush proves you are still alive. But then I'm an old decrepit f****r, I'll get my coat and join Greyman somewhere in the shadow of the night.

Some good fighters from your area. Dave Radford went the distance with Roberto Duran. Respect! He ended up bare knuckle and carried on for too long imo. Brendan Ingle is a genuine legend for producing that level of fighter for decades. Some unbelievably skilled fighters. Hamed and Herol Graham were top top boxers. I can still remember Graham getting sparked in his world championship fight against Julian Jackson. He outclassed the guy but walked on to a knockout punch. I think some had it as the punch of the century. Graham was out cold before he hit the canvas.

You should get a refund on your taxes for having them boys as your neighbours. ??

These boys are the real deal.

Think I'll order my Mrs to go on a Thai marriage guidance course so she can learn how not to moan. Some hope.

I know a few in the far far north. They are all Thai women....the only women that will put up with the climate and the lifestyle. Mind you, they ain't lookers either.

I've always yearned for a working man's McNab. Course and kill a roe, net a salmon and screw the keeper's wife in the same day. One and two are fairly easy. Number 3 is a bit of a challenge...maybe with a jump start.

There's never enough time. You need twenty lives to do all the things you fancy.

I remember in the fifties the Australian government were short of workers and were a offering a ten pound passage to brits and their families. Some of our neighbours went. There was talk of my family going but my ma wasn't having it. I sometimes wonder where life would have led me if we had taken up that ten quid offer. Think I would have a pack of staghounds for sure.
-
It could be that those sent away to Australia were not criminals at all. They were simply hungry and stole to eat.
-
I've often thought that. If criminality is genetic as some believe, how come Australia isn't a hotbed of criminality with more prisons per head of population than similar countries?

You have ruined my evening. Lo. I was brought up to view WG Grace as one of England's fairest players and a true sportsman. Oh well another illusion shattered.
-
Agreed but he should have expected it imo. Cricket is no longer a gentleman's game.
-
Fair or foul play? Its not in the spirit of the game but cricket has changed in my lifetime. First we had the West Indians deliberately bowling at the man...hence all the protective gear. Then we had the aussies introducing "sledging'-- saying personal filth directed at close family in order for a batsman to lose concentration. For me, I thought Bairstow was naive. Different sport but "Protect yourself at all times" comes to mind. I wouldn't have fallen for that trick when I was a kid playing with a bin, a home made bat and a tennis ball.

Inexpensive Progress poem - John Betjeman WWW.BEST-POEMS.NET Encase your legs in nylons, Bestride your hills with pylons O age without a soul; Away with gentle willows And all the elmy billows That through your valleys roll...

Kids innocently singing Silent Night at Christmas really cracks me up.

I did an OU course years back. The enclosed poem just about sums up what you lads have been writing about. I too love churches, hate religions. The Poetry Hour WWW.THEPOETRYHOUR.COM

I'm not particularly nice or dim mate. I do resent the class system in this country. It would be fair to say I do have a chip on my shoulder about it. But you have not walked in my shoes. As for schoolteachers, I don't have have much regard for my former teachers in the fifties. They were violent and abusive in the main. Much of what I remember from school was marching in single file and being taught military or religious songs/ hymns. They abused their power so I did not creep up to them. The UK must abide by its agreed, international responsibilities and provide a safe haven for tho

Nice to correspond with a individual who isn't a self avowed white supremacist referring to asylum seekers as vermin. I am basing my comments on the background of Syrian and Afghani refugees having read a study carried out by a Cambridge university academic. His name is Dr Coutts. I cannot find the article at the moment.I will post it a later date. Whilst searching for the article , I came across a House of Commons library study which clearly stated that the UK allows far fewer refugees than Germany or France for example. People are concerned about mass immigration. There were o
