Isn't that cultural appropriation? I'm only winding you up WD. There's a school of whacko thought this side of the pond that cultures should stick to their own traditions and not borrow others' traditions. So, for example any white person who chooses to wear their hair in dreadlocks is criticised for ' cultural appropriation'. Similarly, any black person straightening their hair is ridiculed for the same crime. Its nuts but some get very animated about it.

No doubt there will be another toothless inquiry as there was when GP Shipman killed hundreds and nurse Beverely Allit killed patient children. How about CCTV and body cameras as standard for staff working with vulnerable patients? How about making hospital bosses legally responsible for patient safety and ward matrons legally responsible for the safety of all patients on their shift? Maybe two nurses should be present at all times when vulnerable children are being treated, so the likes of Letby couldn't act alone. Hospital bosses were slow to act and made doctors who blew the

I love winter, all the seasons really, but at the right time in the right order. Lol

Our summer in SW Scotland has been dire. A sunny June and now 6 weeks of wind and rain. Leaves are falling from trees already. It feels like Autumn. We even had a mist on Wednesday. I had a single swallow's nest in an out building. Five eggs, five chicks, but only three made it. I believe they died because of a lack of insects because of the wintery weather. Usually they have a second or even a third brood, but they haven't attempted to go down on eggs again. Peed off. Its blowing a gale at the minute.

I was aimlessly browsing YouTube last week and came across the infamous 70s Leeds United team. They were, how can I put this, a shower of dirty, horrible b*****ds. I watched goalie Gary Sprake punch a player full on the chin, Johnny Giles fell kevin Keegan with a terrific hook and Jack Charlton poleaxe an opposition player for daring to tackle him. Not one was sent off. The commentators took the view that hey, its a man's contact sport, shit happens. And that's not mentioning Billy Bremner and bite yer legs Norman Hunter. Although they were a skilled bunch of horrible assassins, I

I've just been reading an article demanding that women footballers and managers are paid the same as the men. I've read similar articles suggesting women tennis players and boxers should have pay parity too. That's just daft. If women could put the same number of fans on seats or subscribe to ppv as men, then fine, they would deserve the same. Unfortunately, only a small proportion of sports fans are prepared to pay to watch women's sport. That's the way the world works. I can't believe there are so many people who don't understand that principle.

Good, honest post that mate.

You are right when you say the tournament is being bigged up by the media. But there's not a lot to cheer us up in the UK at the minute. Lighten up mate. Society changes all the time. Tune in Sunday at 11a.m. Your country needs you.

There is a clip on YouTube where Parky admits he was frightened of Ali. There was a spat between them where Ali insulted him and a lot of viewers thought Parky should have bit back. But Parky thought better of it. I've tried to find both clips but I can't find them.

Parkie's interviews with Muhammad Ali are worth watching.

The netball world cup was on BBC at the beginning of the month! England were beaten in the final by the aussies. I can't claim to have watched it though. I think women's football will grow,in fact the stats prove this. They are not as good as the men, but the fact that they make more mistakes adds to the spectacle imo. Also, the women's game doesn't seem to feature time wasting, diving and screaming in agony as soon as they are tackled. Not yet anyway. I used to be dead against women's boxing at first, the same as women's football, but now I think fair play to them. They want to p

Fair enough, you would know better than me.

I would think terrorists would already know where cops live. It's not the sort of thing you can keep secret. And Ireland is a small place.

Point of order. No such thing as a lesbian, just women who have not been introduced to me.

Any interest? I will be rooting for them tomorrow especially as we are the underdogs. It's always good to beat the aussies in any sport.

Boris Johnson gave the right to 3 million Hong Kong Chinese to emigrate to Britain after China announced plans to introduce a new security law. 144500 have arrived in the last two years. Many hundreds of thousands more are expected. Are these people under threat from bombs and bullets? Has the government researched exactly how many will come? Has the government planned extra affordable accommodation for them? Has the government invested more money in public services to deal with the influx? Of course not. They did not plan for EU immigration either. They just sat on their hands. I feel ver

Fascinating stuff. Can the police get access to these DNA banks? I stole a biro, from Woolworths 60 odd year ago and legged it. I distinctly remember spitting on the pavement just outside Woolies. I now live in fear of a visit by the old bill.

Too hardcore for me that. I had Plantar F. I started to wear Sorbothane insoles 35 years ago. They block most of the impact when walking and running. I can still jog at 73. A physio said I had protected my feet a lot by wearing Sorbothane.
