  1. I don' t know what they stand for any more. More of the same I reckon.
  2. It's reckoned he took 2 million out of being an MEP. Nice work if you can get it.
  3. I agree. Also agree Farage is not the answer. He's very shifty imo ,and in the past funded by some dark forces. He's got a good act but if he ever were elected an MP or even lead the tory party, we would see a different side to him. He would promise the earth and fail to deliver. I read Reform's policies and I like some of them..fixing the health service and only starting to pay tax when you reach £20000. But promises are promises. I voted for brexit but they did not deliver on their promises.
  4. I can't think, of a single MP who I respect. I used to respect MPs from the left and the right years back. Some were men and women of principle. No longer, there's nobody in there who truly has our interests at heart. They are remote, arrogant and parasitical. And that's on a good day.
  5. Seriously, why not offer to do it for half what they are currently paying? They will no doubt refuse. So go to your MP and complain about sweetheart deals, taxpayers money etc and threaten to go public. Be good fun even if you ultimately get the bum's rush

To go back to the thread, I listened to a commons debate on Israel today. To a man and woman they were all saying ffs enough is enough, too many civilians are being killed. They were especially critical of the fighting around the hospital. Starmer is backing out of demanding a ceasefire, just doing his usual smarmy hedging. To the hardliners in Israel this war has been an absolute godsend.

My mam was Irish. She had a lot of bad memories of the English in Ireland, some handed down to her. She swore like a drunken trooper when she was in a bad mood. One of her favourite curses was : f****n English b*****ds". Gave me a bit of a complex. There I was born in England, collecting the cards for the England football, cricket and rugby teams and following the results on the radio and there was my mam calling me a f****n English b*****d by association. No wonder 'Im a weird old b*****d.

Whats the quotation? Something like," An Englishman has only to open his mouth to have another Englishman despise him". Ive met 3 old Etonians in my life and they all spoke with the utmost authority, correctness and moral fortitude. They could dominate a meeting with ease. All 3 were grossly incompetent ( no really, its not twisted and bitter me saying that lol) although one was a decent enough bloke. One thing they can do is play cricket. They can bowl like professionals. Intimidating to say the least. The one thing state schools lack is the ability to instil confidence in kids. Pub

I quickly adopt an accent. I live in Scotland and when I am with jock mates,I pick up their accent subconsciously. I speak to my English friends completely differently. My Mrs says I am a sell out lol. But I can't help it, its the quickest way to get people to understand you. She will be ages on the phone trying to get a scot on the other end of the line to understand her. Sometimes I snap and say give me the phone and then talk Jockspeak and am understood immediately. The very first thing I notice about a fellow brit is their accent. Its always a good icebreaker asking what a person's

I know it's embarrassing isn't it. I can get by in Spanish but on a very basic level. Whenever I get back from a foreign holiday . I am so angry I've been so dumb abroad that I get stuck into YouTube language videos, and then apathy and laziness take over.

I read an article which explained that children who are brought up bi- lingual. Have a huge advantage in later life. It somehow expands the brain and makes future learning easier for such kids. That Cambodian kid must have a mind like quicksilver. Fantastic. Somebody from. Microsoft should sign him up!

Last time I was in Spain I was talking to a young girl,19. She was a waitress in a restaurant and had perfect English and Spanish. She spoke English better than me, and certainly with a quicker thought process! I asked her how she became so multilingual,( she spoke several languages other than Spanish , English and Polish, though only enough to get by.) She just said I've got to make money, Ive a child back home and to do that I have to be able to understand customers. The only tuition she got was through language videos on Youtube. Sometimes you have to admire the grit of people.

  15. Good old dodgy Dave. Gave a private office in the House of Commons to his dodgy mate Lex Greenshill. Nothing wrong with that. Nothing to see here. Move along. Its normal. Newspapers allege Greenshill gave good old dodgy Dave millions in shares. Amazing generosity. Greenshill later became Cameron's employer. Acting honourably of course, Cameron decided to successfully raid the Covid fund and obtained millions in loans for his boss. Unfortunately for Greenshill's creditors ( you and me) Greenshill went bust owing millions. Dodgy Dave sent 56 texts lobbying government ministers, inc
  16. Of course peerages are given on merit. Johnson gave the posh totty in the middle of the photo a peerage for 'services rendered' whilst she was temping in his office for a few months. Mind you, to be fair, any man would give her one. 17. Big problem for Sunak is that Johnstone sacked a lot of bona fide statesmen and replaced them with clerks and low grade salesmen/ women. Cameron's remit is to rearrange the deck chairs and maybe to facilitate some slash and burn laws so that their mates get a good financial bonus before they are in the wilderness for a term.

I'll tell my Mrs mate. No bibles on bookshop shelf. The word of God is too precious for the public to read. I think I know what her answer will be.

My Mrs volunteers in a Shelter charity shop in which there's a book section. ( Touch of worthy leftiesness there) Somebody brought in a copy of the Koran and it was placed for sale along with the other books. A Pakistani gentleman came into the shop and demanded it be taken off the shelves as it was a holy book. Mrs suggested he buy it then because if it wasn't sold she would put it in the bin. Pakistani gentleman became extremely agitated and returned later with some mates and made a fuss. Mrs told him to buy the book or f**k off. Literally. They bought it. Muslims should

You found me out Wilf. A penetrative analysis of what makes me tick. I'm not going to reply. It's just daftness. You think in clichés. You seem to have me down as some sort of immigrant hugging hater of Britain. Whereas in fact I just want a fairer deal for British people. Think Mick Lynch not Che Guevera.

I wish her good luck with that project. People forget the electorate did not vote for Sunak. His ethnicity as well as hers will be a big factor in a general election.
