i would go for nothing smaller than 25",small dogs are just rabbiting dogs,why do people go out and buy 19-23" dog and expect it to do all quarry,i know theres a hell of a lot of dogs this size that does it,but theres a hell of a lot more bigger dogs doing it and more to the point doing the job cleanly.you must choose and buy a dog after a lot of consideration,you must think what game you will be after mostly,these days you can only go rabbiting anyway

for one of gods greatest creations to be killed at the hands of a gun is a crying shame,fair enough on unrunnable land,but where theres a chance of coursing them why shoot these magnificant creatures.im very biassed but i despise people who shoot them,when i could be putting a dog behind them.

personally i reckon these dogs are being over bred from,they seem to be in every whippet advertised,if anyone tells you these whippets are taking fox then go have a look at them,because if they are then surally they will have the battle scars to prove it,i doubt they take them cleanly as a fox is as big as most of them.if you want a fox dog get a different breed,as you take a big chance getting one of these for fox,im not saying theres not fox killers out there,im just saying theres a higher percentage that doesnt than that does

last nights bag,had 20 altogether,my mates whippet had the other five,we had to call it a night early as we got soaked right thro. our saluki x's (mother and son)marking a bury on boxing day,i was well impressed with this as it was the first time they have been out ferreting.

now the cold has set in i put a kennel coat on them after their evening walk,then before i go to bed i put a blizzard jacket on them aswell,i then lock them in their kennel,they are all short haired coursing dogs except my 10 year old collie greyhound,this dog overheats in the snow,he has a hell of a coat on him,to be honest i think he hates the jackets as they are to warm for him,but i think its in his interest to keep him warm as hes suffering with athritis,a warm dog is a happy dog,i know people say they are dogs and they will be alright,but whats the point in letting them be freezing,i lik

i would be more worried if the dog just led about and didnt want to do anything,it sounds like a good healthy active pup,do a bit of easy training,but let it be a game not a chore,use her excitment to your advantage,she will be keen to learn,and dont work her at all,let her be a pup,ive seen no end of dogs ruined through early entering,they pick up to many bad points,you have the rest of the dogs life to work her,whats the rush.
