  1. The good thing about internet forums is that you have a choice as to whether you want to read it or not...just like a paper...glance over it...if it's shite turn the page No point bitchin about it as it will never stop unless the mods tighten things up. I like the fact that this forum is very open and we get away with a lot more than we would ever get away with on other forums
  2. Why don't you call the cops? They can put you through to the firearms department. It think you should get it from the horses mouth
  3. If you're passing through private property without permission then it's definitely yes, you are committing armed trespass and could be charged even if the rifle isn't loaded, isn't cocked and is in a bag...no if's but's or maybe's If you're crossing a public road then i would say yes...you could possibly be charged because your definition of having good reason for being there could differ from the cops that are charging you so that's why i would say they could charge you and let the court decide. You're arguement would be that you have a good reason for doing so
  4. No he would not be breaking the law, UNLESS the road is a private road. Carrying your gun over a public highway/road is perfectly legal if you have a lawfull excuse or reason, ie travelling to or from your perms / range / gunshop etc.... IF however it WAS a private road and he did not have permission, he's fecked! as he would then be guilty of Armed Trespass! regardless of it being covered or not loaded or not, cocked or not! Good man I think it's clear that i was referring to private property
  5. My understanding would be that technically you would be breaking the law because you don't have permission to be on the ground that you have to pass through but you do have an acceptable reason for carrying an air rifle there because you are going between permissions. Why not call 1 call 1 of the numbers on the BASC website just to clarify
  6. That looks like a lovely bit of wood on your 77
  7. You wouldn't get it if the person selling it knew what they had!

  14. Yep...red=.22...blue=.177. Ebay is as good as anywhere mate. You'll get the odd older type though you'll definitely get the new mag there for about 40 quid. You won't get them any cheaper unfotunately
  15. Is it the new red self-indexing mag you're after?
  16. Excellent choice mate. .22 every time for hunting for me. I shot 7 birds this morning in the space of 10 mins ranging 35 yards to 50 yards. 1/2 mildot to 1 1/2 mildot hold over and they all dropped like a stone. Knock down power is far more important to me than a flatter trajectory

  20. That sounds like a really good deal you got there mate. You should try to get some golf course permission as i find them great for shooting on if there's some cover on the course Let us know how you get on with it as i'm considering a small, light .177 PCP and the Ultra is top of the list
  21. Just to clear this up. There is a big difference between carrying your firearm to a gunsmiths for repair etc in a public place or walking to through someone elses field or whatever to get to your authorised permission...which would...in the eyes of the law be classed as an acceptable reason for carrying a firearm in a public place...BUT...if you are on someones ground with your firearm, without the permission of the land owner and are there with the intention of shooting game then you ARE committing armed tresapass...even if your rifle is in a case you can still be done as you don't have a
