  1. I had the collar on the other jill
  2. Often see muzzles on dogs when walking about the streets etc.. What you dont see is muzzled dogs being sent into the unknown to potentially go toe to toe with something 2/3 s its own body weight (rat/weasal) without the use of its teeth I don't ferret for rats or weasels and don't know anyone that does and have never known anyone coming across this. How often does this happen...1 in a thousand??? You've taken the topic to extremes and it's turned into a pointless debate!
  3. On the occasion where i dug down...the rabbit had buried its nose into the stop end and the jill had climbed over and trapped herself. I suspect the same had happened on the 2nd occasion. How often do you see a muzzle on a dog? I don't see it as a big issue...after all...we keep a wild animal that is used to roaming free locked in a small cage all of its life...a bit hypocritical imho
  4. No it's not but it'll stop the ferret killing the rabbit, staying there with it and eating it so there's the chance the ferret will come away from it...also if the ferret gets over it going for the head/neck which is what we all think happens then there's the chance the rabbit could be pushed out. It would be interesting to hear of anyone who has tried this
  5. She looks very "Whippety". Bonnie wee dug
  6. Practise on the range 1st to get used to holdover etc before shooting at live quarry
  7. I spoke to mate about it and he didn't fancy it. Just because it's not particularly common doesn't mean it's not worth a go. My ferrets are well handled by me and the kids and have never bitten any of us. I wouldn't consider muzzling a ferret other than when putting them done a hole. They'd be muzzled for no more than 20-30 mins at a time. I'm gonna give it a go and if the ferrets are ok with it and it stops kill ins then i'll be doing it regularly. Saves a whole lot of grief, wasted time and potentially losing a ferret
  8. I think it's a sensible question and it's something most of us have probaly considered at 1 time or another to prevent kill ins. I have has 2 kill ins this season already and it's a major pain in the arse. I got my jill back after 4 hrs and a dig on the 1st occasion and had to leave a jill last week though thankfully a chap that i know on the permission took a walk where we left her and she came out so that's 2 jills i could've easily lost this season so far. If you're thinking about only muzzling a ferret while ferreting and ferreting only then why not? I'm thinking about giving it a go m
  9. Yep...i tend to hang off til something comes a feels right...rifle that is haha ;-)
  10. I know that mate. It's a dodgy old game ;-) To be honest i would pay good dosh for the right mk2 Rapid or MFR but it's getting the right 1 :-/
  11. If i was going to go for a 2nd hand Rapid then it adds the dilemma of...can i trust who i'm buying it from? Am i buying someone elses problem? I've always been very trusting and have sent cash to complete strangers but all this Graham nonsense has opened my eyes a bit more so the 2nd hand minefield is a real dilemma :-/
  12. I'd definitely prefer a go with both before deciding. I like the idea of the German engineering and a Weihrauch is a Weihrauch...nuff said but the Rapid continually gets great reviews and to be honest...when i sit here thinking about it...i haven't read 1 bad thing about the Rapid. The other thing about the Rapid is the unbelievable shot count...saves a wee bit of messing about with filling. Why other manufacturers haven't followed suit is beyond me...for instance some of them are still designing and putting out unregged rifles with 40-50 shots per fill so for that reason alone they lose my c
  13. Hi all. I'm gonna sell my HW97k and AA S410 to fund either a mk2 Rapid or HW100. What's the views on these 2 and which should i go for? The Rapid will probably be 2nd hand as i think they're around £900 new whereas the HW100 will probably be new. Thanks in advance ;-)
  14. Superb mate. Is she a full Whippet? ;-)
  15. I was watching a youtube tutorial recently and the chap (can't remember his name) mentioned that the mk1 collars do work with mk3 locators. So you think differently?
  16. Ok mate. Let us know how you get on
  17. Thanks for that mate nice and simple you have made it for me thanks again. Try it and see how you go. I only adjust parallax on my scopes. There's more experienced than me on here so you may get a more in depth reply
  18. Yip...parallax at the front. You simply adjust it to the distance you're shooting at and off you go. You can fine tune with focus if the image isn't completely clear but i never have to with my scopes. Other scopes may differ
  19. I use Hawke scopes and never have to adjust focus...just parallax
  20. Ok mate. What about the guys that repair and sell the boxes...no luck with them?
  21. Welcome mate. Very informative forum for all forms of hunting...enjoy
